He'd be lucky to have the career of John Garland.

No shit. I'd be ecstatic if he were Garland.

See, that shit doesn't work with me because I don't have unrealistic views of prospects.

They are very different types of pitchers so the comparison doesn't make any sense.

BUT, if Reynaldo Lopez pitches 1500 innings for the White Sox over the next seven seasons it will be very difficult to be upset with that outcome.

Still think he's ultimately a 1 or 2 inning setup guy.

he reminds me of Stroman or Yordano Ventura while he was still alive.

Papa Bunt really wanted him to qualify for that meaningless win.

This is what happens when you shove a closer into a starters role.

so they burned some service time, to bring this guy up in a lost season to get shelled? Sounds like the Triple-A Fulmer plan. Player development guys still look to be asleep at the wheel. Sad!

I am not saying this is the case here but I wonder about the arrogance of some athletes and if teams ever teach them a lesson. There are many point in life where you have someone bitching and moaning on and on that they are better then this and they belong on a higher rung or stage.

If there were a pitcher like that I can see a team going over and over that they are not ready but ultimately giving in to the whining. Ok big shot go up there and show us. Now he can go back to the minors appropriately humbled.

What are you talking about?

His performance, especially recent performance, demanded a call up.

He had a great first game. He had a typically developmental second game but there was a lot to like. After giving up the four in the 3rd he came back and had a clean 4th with two strikeouts then lead off the 5th with a K before getting hurt and giving up a walk and a hit.

How bad is the injury?

Dolphin is right. I'm not gonna worry about one bad start

Apparently its not arm or shoulder so hopefully its only a start or two.

He said he was intending to make his next start. He said it was muscle stiffness from a plane ride that he woke up with that morning.

Yeah, he ran into some trouble, and that's always gonna happen, but he's gonna learn to get out of it and bounce back--and, really, he did, until taken out. He can pitch.

Are you serious? There's still Cub fans who defend Schwarber

Post subject:  Re: Reynaldo Lopez

Speaking of defending Kyle, Spiegs and Parkins today had Jonah something or another on today. Spiegs asked who had some slash line 278/blah blah blah in the last 33 games. The guest obviously guessed Schwarber and they went ga ga over that.

What they failed to remember or discuss though was his comeback basically has consisted of not batting against lefties, ever.

Correct on it being no big deal and one bad game.

dolphin's rationalizing would be roundly mocked by dolphin, were he not dolphin himself.
