He is happy in Chicago and I am happy having him in a Sox uniform. If they aren't good next year I am not opposed to trading him, because at that point they never will be, but its too early now. He can still be a part of a winning Sox team.

Agreed. It's crazy to see people advocating trading him. The market hasn't been paying high costs for sluggers recently. Give him a chance to finish leading the kids through the rebuild.

He's also improved his defense tremendously which leads me to believe he has some good years left.

He'll finish with a +800 OPS again this season.

And he'll keep it over 800 thru October 8)

It's nice to see him pumped for his team take a lead in an otherwise meaningless game

Vaughn is a keeper too. Hahn brought us Moncada, then Eloy, then Robert, and next year Vaughn. The fly in the ointment was not keeping Abreu just for this year. I pray he goes and sees Tiger's doctor in Germany.

I don't see how Vaughn will be able to start the year in MLB in 2021. He hasn't even played in AA yet. He may fly through the system once a system is in place but I think his earliest ETA still has to be mid season next year, with the more likely scenario the Fall. At that point you would be down to just over a year left on the Abreu contract...as they enter labor strife.

I've long held Abreu will fall off the table. It's good luck to keep saying so.
