Can Eloy come close to Frank's first couple of months: .330/.454/.529 ? I'd think that even .280/.335/.450 would be a high-end goal, as Frank was just insane when he came up.

If he doesn't break camp on the big league club the Sox are going to find themselves in a bad situation with him over some stupid year of control in the mid-2020's. Every team that does this is playing an increasingly dangerous game of Russian roulette where inevitably a player is going to get really pissed off and make a massive stink about it. Why they are playing these games with a player they view as a foundation piece is beyond me.

As for Eloy, he gets hurt a lot. That's a big problem that people love to gloss over. After watching Kopech die off and Luis Robert arrive to the Sox system as a $30m stillborn I cant believe how blasé Sox fans are about Eloy's risk-factor.

That service time loophole is going to be fixed anyway in the next CBA. Fucking him late last year and early this year will be for naught. Sox will NOT be getting that 6th year.
