White sox fans care way more and its not close. Anyone who denies this is either lying or incredibly dense.

What are the percentages?

55% to 45%?

83% to 17%?

Sox fans who root against the Cubs by rule: 78%

Cub fans who root against the Sox by rule: 14%

Really? In barely 12 hours, there was a thread that grew to 4 pages in the Cubs section. The subject of that thread was a Sox fan.

This may come as a surprise, but there are White Sox fans and Cubs fans who dont post on this site.

And, no, it's not close.
It is MANY times closer than you think it is.

No, it's not.

I dont know why you deny it, it's a core part of being a Sox fan. Just enjoy it.

In fact, I know some guys who would question your Sox fan credentials for even having this discussion.

This. If you think the "trolling" (using that term loosely) between the two is equivalent, you just can't see anything beyond your own perspective. Sox fans have been waiting for last night for months, and the Cubs aren't even eliminated yet. It is mind-boggling to me that anyone can think it's even.

It depends how you measure it. There are a few Sox posters that go way overboard on it(though guys like Bob are closing that gap too). In terms of posters who troll the Sox I think the numbers are probably higher for the Cubs fans than the Sox. We can have a draft!

As I've said in the past, on this board its way closer than the general fanbases.

Of course you're gonna get lunatics in a place like this.

Convenient.

I'm sure I'm high on the troll list on here and I was rooting for the Cubs last year too.

No, it's not convenient, it's the truth.

You and Frank are like the only people I've ever heard argue this. Most Sox fans wear the Cubs hate as a badge of honor.

I'm not sure you guys are actual Sox fans.

Sox fans do own it more. Cubs fans try and act like they don't. That's the difference.

Even the "normal Cubs fans" on here have a good amount of "Sox suck" posts.

RPB makes a great point, by the way. Most hardcore Sox fans don't even deny how much shit they talk.

I own my Cubs hate. That isn't the issue here, RPB. You say that Sox fans care about about the Cubs than Cubs fans care about the Sox. And while I believe that overall statement is true, the gap is nowhere near as large as you think it is.

Couldn't give a percentage on the amount of luck in the playoffs but knows for a fact that Sox hatred is much higher.

What a glorious day!

Arguing that Cub fans care just as much as the Sox is hilarious considering for a long time the Sox fan go-to was Cub fans dont understand baseball, dont care about baseball, and are just there for a party.

It's just a terrible argument.

Have fun, gents.

Are you softening your stance? Because you've always argued that it's at least equal.

Another Sox fan missing the point because he was too busy trying to take a shot at the Cubs (which is understandable as he cant control it.)

The "terrible" argument is that the hatred is equal.

You literally started a thread complaining about Cubs fans not watching a recent playoff game.

The only way I could see it being close to as ludicrous as rpb suggests is taking into account that the actual Sox fan base has shrunk so considerably. 25 years ago it was virtually even since very fine people on BOTH SIDES embraced the rivalry and reveled in the failure of the other team.

Now nearly every kid who likes baseball is a Cubs fan so there isn't a rivalry.
