Grand slam was the most glorious sports moment I have personally witnessed.

I'm envious....

Wow, twelve years ago? A lifetime is just not long enough.

We were down 2 runs when Konerko hit the slam. Best moment in Chicago baseball history. I know Pods had the game winning HR. But Konerko's was bigger in my opinion. If he rolls over for a double play, we lose that game.

And running out of innings -- it wasn't like this was hit in the third; it was the seventh and the Sox had just had men at 2nd and 3rd in the sixth and AJ popped it up to end the inning... it was looking bad. You get bases loaded with two outs -- realistically this is your best chance to get back in the game, and then -- pow -- magical.

Janks blows the ninth, but at least it is tied, so you have a shot. If Konerko doesn't hit that grand slam, that game is over.

Great play. Love how Konerko pimped it.

Savor the flavor chumps, you will never see the Sox catch lightning in a bottle for another century.

SOX LEAD
6-4
LIGHT IT UP

It was great that he cranked it on the first pitch too. Everyone was thinking slam and then BANG, right away he crushes it. I agree, one of the greatest postseason HR of all time.

Could have sworn Mac recalled this as Dan Wheeler giving it up many times over the years. It was Chad Qualls.

Wheeler hit Dye to set up Konerko with the bases loaded.

It was pretty amazing, but I think the Pods walk off was better. That entire game was nuts. They ran out of hot chocolate and coffee just before we got back to our seats for Paulie's slam.
