If you took a pole of GM, professionals would still choose Rodon over Schwarber

No way you can claim that with any confidence right now.

I say it with extreme confidence.

And that means nothing because there is no way you know this especially with the injury situation.

He will return in mid-May. That's why I call him Carlos Ramadan.

Dolphin owned pretty much everyone in this thread. Well done.

I'm certainly not going to prematurely worry and the truth is I am a doctor (not just a doctor of love either)

You made the comparison first.

Not news. Boras was never going to going to allow him back at the 6 month mark.

Cleared to begin throwing program. They said originally he wouldn't be throwing until spring training. He's a little ahead of schedule.

WGN reported he is 6-8 months away from today? Is that true or did the dingy broad misreport that it was 6-8 months from the time of the surgery?

Post subject:  Re: Carlos Rodon

I recall the original time line being 6-8. Another six months would have to mean another surgery, right?

I get nervous anytime an athlete hits the upper bound of a recovery. These are professionals with top drs and trainers. The lower bound is for fatasses like me that don’t follow rehab.

Can't discount the Boras factor here, his goal is to have Rodon pitching in his free agency year.

Agreed, a polish GM would make the wrong decision.

Polish people have very high IQs, just ask them.

I’ll take a Polish GM over Williams/Hahn. No question.

GM Dave Dombrowski's Red Sox currently have the second best record in baseball

How many polish guys does it take to shoe a horse?

Ten. Nine to lift the horse off the ground, and one to apply the shoes.

Sox had their shot....and could have gotten him back....he's always been successful. Red Sox were smart to scoop him up right away.

Well . . . that may be true. Reinsdorf sends mixed messages and is sometimes loyal to the wrong people.

Define succeed.

I am not a Kenny Williams ALS'er, but in his twelve year tenure the Sox were 80+ games over .500 and won a World Series title. Only one other playoff appearance outside of that is not very good, but what has there been four teams that have won more than one title in the past 20-25 years?

Yes Kenny's last few years soured many but he was a successful GM. And Ron Schueler before Kenny wasn't bad either.

But not a sustained history of getting to the playoffs. That's what galls me.

I would rather two playoffs with one being a World Championship over the course of 10-12 years, then 5 or 6 playoff appearances with nothing to show for it like the Twins of the 00's.
