Kopech sure didn’t have it workin today. Hopefully he’s just going thru a tired arm stage but 3 walks in 2.1 IP is concerning.

No it's not. It's March 8th.

I want to see Kopech get blasted in spring so he realizes he still has work to do in the minors.

The Robert injury doesn't even get a mention here? The guy looked like he could be moved aggressively through the system this year and now he is out until June 1 with a thumb injury. I expect the injury will sap him of some power when he does return until he can fully heal in the off season.

That is now three significant injuries to prospects this spring.

Did the Sox hire the Bears trainers?

Dropping like flies :(
Quote:
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Chicago White Sox left fielder Nicky Delmonico suffered a partial left shoulder subluxation and shortstop Tyler Saladino suffered a head injury in a seventh-inning collision on Sunday in the White Sox 6-5 victory over the D-backs.

Delmonico and Saladino collided while both were chasing Nick Ahmed's fly ball to shallow left. Both men went down and Ahmed wound up with a triple.

Delmonico left the game immediately. Saladino was pulled after the half inning for evaluation of a possible concussion.

"Saly is the head, so we're just checking it for concussion protocol," White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. "We just took him out because he was fuzzy.

"As far as Nicky, he just got extended {his left arm]. It didn't pop, it didn't do anything, just got it extended and just jammed it a little bit. Both are going to be day-to-day. We'll see where they are at tomorrow. I can't give you anything else other than that."

Delmonico, who is projected to be the White Sox starting left fielder, will be further evaluated Monday. He entered the game with five doubles, tied for the Cactus League lead.

Utility player Saladino is hitting .409 in 11 games, going 9-for-22 with a double and home run.

Quote:
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Luis Robert, the No. 3 White Sox prospect and baseball's No. 28 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will begin the season on the disabled list, not in the outfield for one of the White Sox Class A farm clubs.

Robert has been diagnosed with a moderate Grade 2 left thumb ligament sprain. Robert suffered the injury while sliding into second base Wednesday on a stolen base. He remained in the game and hit a game-winning grand slam in the eighth inning in a 14-12 victory over the Reds.

"The thumb will be immobilized for approximately the next six weeks," White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said Saturday. "He will ideally be able to return to game action in roughly 10 weeks.

"As a result, he's obviously done for Spring Training. We would expect him probably roughly in extended games in early May. Hopefully we can adjust that timetable for the better once the cast comes off, but at this time, we view it as six weeks in a cast and return to games in approximately 10.

"He sustained the injury prior to the grand slam, which is a pretty impressive pain tolerance by the young man, and also speaks to the speed of the potential recovery here."

He’s taking another ass pounding. So much for that. I have no idea how they can just hand him a starters job. He’s done nothing to deserve it.

What a shame. He had trimmed his ERA to 10.10 before this game, I think.

I keep hearing that he has good stuff . . . but he has no control.

Who cares? If he makes the rotation either he figures it out at the big league level, or he's gone. The Sox are not making the playoffs this year anyway. Fuck they wasted enough money and time with Danks that if they decide to give Fulmer a few starts to see what he can do, I don't care.

He's a top 10 pick who is looking like a massive failure.

That's a big deal.

Yes, it is a big deal. But I really don't care about how good or bad he is doing in March or if he is "handed" a job in the starting rotation. It's very possible Fulmer could start 4 or 5 games in the minors, then come up and put up respectable numbers at the big league level.

It's funny to me that just a few years ago Keyser was begging for Erik Johnson to be in the rotation and then was all pissed off when the Sox demoted and then traded him after he failed. Fulmer is basically the same guy. I guess he just needs a whipping boy on the Sox roster every year.

His development was not properly handled from the moment he was drafted. You just can't "skip" levels in the minor leagues. Each stop provides an opportunity for growth and development.

So Papa Ricker sat down Avi for not running out a ground ball in spring training. WTF is he doing. Avi runs harder to first base than anyone in baseball and everyone knows it. If Papa wants to make a statement don’t be a bitch and go after someone who actually doesn’t run out ground balls like.....Yoan Moncada. Big leaguers can see thru this passive aggressive bullshit.
