Since Conns trolled here, Abreu has hit 5 HRs and put up an OPS of nearly .900

Oh, and he's now at .800 OPS for the season

He was really drawing shit luck for a prolonged stretch. Just hammering the ball right at defenders, now he's finally hitting the ball hard and its dropping (or just flying out of the ballpark).

He had a lot of Ks and GIDP as well, it wasn't all luck. He had a pretty horrendous June, but is starting to really heat up now.

His numbers are down from career averages almost across the board. They are still good but I think we may be witnessing the slow decline caused by age.

Pretty awesome that after such a horrendous start, he's been able to turn it around and slash .330/.446/.593 with a 1.039 OPS over the last month. That's not even including a walk and an RBI single today. We know he's best the been first baseman in town since Konerko retired, but this stretch continues to show you what a great-- albeit streaky-- hitter he still is.
