.790! Under .800 2 seasons in a row. As a first baseman! Pretty trash.

His OPS is .689 over the last 28 days. .588 over the last week.

He has been trending downward for years, and it seems to get worse with each passing week.

As a White Sox fan, you don't want to extend this guy.

Did anyone even tell Jose Abreu that the season actually started or is he just breezing through like this is still spring training?

It's funny because at various points throughout June 2018 Abreu was also under an .800 OPS. I'm sure at that time you also would have said 'season isn't over, he will be over .800 OPS when all is said and done.' But no, he essentially stayed under .800 OPS for the remainder of the 2018 season. Because that is who Jose Abreu now is.

Once again, a W for the North Siders.

"We can't talk about this yet because the seasons not over, even though last year ended exactly how you predicted!"

Must be tough to discuss sports for you. Last year through 6 games with Khalil Mack were you like "season isn't over yet, he might only finish with 5 sacks"

Through there is something to be said for your positivity.

For? Is this now the second question in the last two days you've asked me to answer where I have and you could not locate it?

I think I need to bring in a primary school teacher to educate me on how I can effectively communicate with you. I've never considered my vocabulary or patterns of speech to be advanced. Maybe you're just not reading closely?

It's actually 830, and he has been here twice now just to fall back to sub .800. He is who he is. A light hitting 1B who strikes out way too much. But if he is good enough for you guys...

He has struck out too much this year. But who cares. A strike out is just like any other out, right?

How many of those strikeouts could have been runs scored or might have moved runners over for the next guy to score them, if only the ball had been put into play?

If a player has an OPS at 1.000 or above, maybe all strikeouts can just be ignored since the production in all other PA's is so good. But with an OPS hovering between .790 and .830? Not quite.

Right now, Javy Baez and Jose Abreu is extremely similar players. Especially for the last month.

Ok. That was just a litmus test on whether you're crazy. I think the Ks this year are concerning and I reluctantly agree with your premise overall. The problem is the equivalent or better replacement for him. Like I said, if the money's right, I sign him for 2 years and a club option and hope for the best.

Already slipping! Wow...lose 5 OPS a game and it'll be less than a week.

Still top 2 and 3 among AL first basemen in RBI and HR, 2nd in all of AL in extra base hits.

You can say a lot of things about Abreu, light hitting is not one of them.

Keep on this current trend you have going, IMU. Its been incredibly entertaining to take part in :D

We need IMU to create threads ripping more Sox players as every time he does this, the player goes on a tear.

Can we have a Reynaldo Lopez thread please?

Floor has fallen out from underneath Abreu's OPS in just two games against the Cubs.

Giolito's smoke and mirrors are over.

Tim Anderson and Yoan Moncada have come back down to earth.

McCann, Nova, Yolmer and Leury were the best performers for the White Sox in the series. Doesn't say much about the rebuild, if we're being honest.
