It's amusing, teams are not allowed to say that a player has COVID as it is a non-baseball illness, and thus a violation of HIPAA. But the only realistic reason a player wouldn't be at practice for a non-baseball illness is because of COVID.

The Phillies put four players on the DL, but no reason was given when MLB announced the transactions.

I thought I remembered hearing about this, the domestic violence, before. I remember being surprised. Sox have had some bad luck with up-and-coming managers who just flaked out. (Wally Backman was one. I know there was another recent one, too.)

Sounds like the ex-clubhouse guy is $100,000 richer.

Lucky they didn't hire him to manage the big-league team, as some wanted.

The Sox have a history with this. Wil Cordero? I guess the Cubs and Bulls do, too.

I just thought the Sox sort of knew about this earlier. I could be wrong. Sounds like he wasn't doing a good job with the young players anyway.

I have no idea why the Sox weren't in on Darvish. They could have matched the prospects and they have the ability to shoulder the salary.

Tampa did better on Snell than the Cubs did with Darvish. But even then we could have matched pretty easily. What those 2 trades showed is we should have gotten Lynn for less.
