That criticism carries some weight coming from Ozzie.

If most pre/post game hosts say this, the response is "you try managing a game and handling a bullpen." Ozzie can shove a ring in their face.

I don’t think Ozzie can manage anymore given the times we now live.

He called Jay Mariotti a burrito and I'd say he was probably correct in doing so.

If he manages this team they win the WS next year or the following year.

The Sox should have done a Billy Martin thing with Ozzie where they're constantly firing and re-hiring him. Maybe they are right now! Billy Martin did TV for the Yankees before and/or after they fired him.

I won't be shocked if they bring him back. And this isn't the first time in this short season that he's no-so-subtly campaigned for the job during his TV gig.

Serious question though. In these times, will his remarks on gays cause him problems getting rehired? I don't think it matters, but I could see some LBTG groups stirring it up.

Ive stated MANY times on the board that I believe Ozzie will manage the Sox again. Twice.

I've been hard on Renteria, but I will say this. He was the right guy in 2017 when the Sox hired him to manage a rebuilding team. He's fine for young developing players who aren't yet ready to compete. However, now that it's time to win, he's a complete and total disaster for this squad. Ozzie is the guy this team needs.

Trying to cancel Ozzie will be like all the attempts to cancel Dave Portnoy, where they yell and scream at him but no one listens. I think he would blithely ignore it all.

The line-up has been stupid, but Ozzie did plenty of stupid things with the line-up. He didn't want a full time DH, and he loved bunting.

The issue with the team has been starting pitching. What the fuck has Don Cooper done in the last 10 years? None of the young pitchers seem to get better. And Giolito credited his turn around to working with his high school pitching coach. It's time to go outside the organization rather than Gar-Pax it with Ozzie and Cooper again.

I've been a Cooper fan, but I'm starting to believe that he was just present during that WS run or he had compromising photos of Kenny Williams. He's starting to feel like Larry Rothschild.

This is absolutely correct and what I've been saying for years. Renteria is the guy who gets the Sox to where to where they are now, now they need Ozzie.

Bury the hatchet, Kenny.

The veterans of failed cancel attempts of the aughts seem particularly impervious to contemporary efforts.

Bunting will be huge again with a runner starting out on 2nd in extra innings.

2 bunts, a hit, game over.

Portnoy's "I don't give a shit what you think" attitude is one of the biggest draws Barstool has and it amazes me how its critics/foes have not realized that every time they try to go at him, they only draw more people into his corner.

Right, you can't fall from grace if you never sought it to begin with. It's like trying to take down Howard Stern.

No one was a bigger fan of Coop than me. He's got to go. Once the hitters did their thing with launch angle and video whatnots, pitching matched it with their own revolutionary techniques. He became a dinosaur.

"Oh my God, nobody can compare that with Nick Swisher," Guillen said. "I hate Nick Swisher with my heart. I think he hates me back, there's nothing wrong with that. …

"I never talked to him, I was managing him, but I don't like the way his attitude was all fake. And I don't like fake people."

But Swisher was only with the White Sox for a year.

"It was one year too long," Guillen said.

The post-game was better than the game last night.
