Maybe it's just me, but he looks to exude confidence.

He needs to play. Ricky wouldn't get that, I think LaRussa does. If Vaughn is on the Opening Day roster, he has to be in the lineup five out of every six games even if/when he struggles.

Vaughn wouldn't be in Chicago to sit. He would be here as he is the best option for DH, which he is. The Sox had the option of pursuing plenty of cheap DH options in free agency and they didn't because they knew Vaughn was their guy for April 1.

Eloy is without question the Sox best option at DH. Eaton in LF, Robert CF, Engel RF.

I too am high on Vaughn, but I won't complain if he spends 3-4 weeks at AA or AAA getting at bats.

I never wanted Encarnacion in the 1st place. This year, I was on my knees begging not to sign Nelson Cruz.
Vaughn flat out rakes, and he KNOWS he flat out rakes.

An aside, I saw Jake Burger played the other day. I expect zero from him at the big league level, but good for him for busting ass and rehabbing yet another injury to get back on the field.

They don't need 30 ST games. These guys come into camp in shape. Starting I think on the 14th or 15th its all 9 inning games.

I do think that once an inning starts, it should be completed.
