I asked earlier why he was playing in the field... the question stands.

It makes no sense. Its not like he’s a gold glover that just keeps getting hurt. He’s bad at defense, even when not getting hurt. Throw away all his gloves and let him hit 3 or 4 times a game.

Because Vaughn and Abreu are banged up so they have been DH'ing.

Its a stupid answer, I know, but that's what I've been told is going on.

The Sox training staff has to be culpable here because yes injuries will happen to every team over the course of the season, but this is two years in a row with a dozen hamstring pulls and leg strains costing guys games. Not to mention the nearly 300 combined games missed by Madrigal, Robert, Grandal, and Eloy who got hurt simply by running to first base.

I think covid and the lockout played a role. Players had to train with the Sox being able to oversee their workouts. That being said, you can never go wrong blaming the training staff of an Uncle Jerry owned team. They've been incompetent since the late 90's.

See dude I respectfully think that's kind of bullshit. These guys are the highest earning athletes in the world. They should have been training and prepping with or without the lockout. If my body was the source of my income of tens of millions id be sure to keep it finely tuned even when my boss wasn't hovering over me.

Not really, Nas. When Herm was the trainer, the Sox were always at or near the top the list in terms of least amount of DL time.

Every other team had to deal with Covid and the lockout, and yes they have injuries but nowhere near the extent that the Sox have had. Players are part of it, but so is the training staff.

We know that has never been true. MANY of these highly paid athletes use their team's training camp to get into shape. That often leads to an injury. I doubt Eloy worked out before the lockout ended.

I mean I don't know for sure but I'd bet you're right. That's why I think that this is on the players more than the training staff and on the players more than on the lockout and short spring training.

Moncada and Robert are chiseled and they both got/get hurt. They need some professional direction regarding flexibility and functional strength

TA too. The only consistent thing on this team is that both the guys in shape and the fat guys will get injured at some point.
