Agreed, but that’s also true of most of the hats that are on offer these days. If I walk into a Lids, there are only about two styles of hat that I can buy that won't make me look like more of a dope than I usually do.

It's an update of an old black/white Sox uniform, though the fact that it came with The House Jerry Had Built With Other People's Money and its Dodger-blue seats does make one wonder.

They’re fine for a series or two a year. There’s many worse jerseys out there. The southside part is cool. Agreed the Chi is lame but they’re fine.

These look like the Negro League uniforms that they wore as a tribute a few years back. I'm not sure if that's been mentioned, but I would bet those were an influence. All of these city edition uniforms are awful for the most part.

I didn't mind the red uniforms. That was when I really came of age as a fan. For the first time in my life the Sox were good. The softball uniforms were cool because they were so strange. Everyone talks about the shorts that they only wore three times, but those uniforms were weird even with long pants. I guess to me the classic Sox uniform is the one from the 50s. I also like the winged foot logo.

Yeah, I know a lot of fans were pissed that the grey jerseys got rid of the diamond sock, but I thought the flying sock was a better piece of hosiery-based iconography. They should have replaced the diamond sock with an updated version of that.

I hate the '80s uniforms and don't understand the insistence on throwing back to them on a regular basis. They're irredeemably hideous.

The '50s uniforms are basically what they have now, at least at home, the differences being the inclusion of red and embroiderers not being sophisticated enough to render the Sox logo on the hat.


They're okay, but I think black/white/grey is more striking, even if black and red puts them in line with the Bulls and Hawks. At least there was white on their socks.

I also hate the 80s uniforms. It looks like a fucking license plate. And the generic things that they had after that for a couple seasons were awful. I remember Bernie Lincicome talking about the "C" on the caps. He said, "I'm not sure what that is on the new White Sox cap, but I wonder if it bites."
