Rodon had, at best, his B stuff and he and the Sox 'pen still held one of the premier offense teams in all of baseball to one run on a warm night in a hitter friendly park. That's a really nice win.

Marshall has been pretty awful as of late, but last night was his best game of the year so far. Credit where its due.

That pickoff at second was just awesome. He could not have thrown that ball in a better spot.

Good. They need to because with some poor LaRussa moves and a bad bullpen, they lost a few "42" type games earlier in the season.

They are 14 games over .500 and lead the league in run differential. So can't fret too much about loses with so many injuries early on as well.

I don't understand Mercedes missing hangers and fastballs right down the middle. The guy can hit hellacious breaking balls off his toes but when a pitcher puts it on a tee, he whiffs. It's making my eyes hurt.

Big picture, that's 100% correct. If in late March you would have told me that Lamb and Hamilton were seeing significant playing time because Eloy and Robert were basically GONE for the year, I would have been quite happy with a .500ish record and second place by mid June.

There are still a couple of times the Sox sort of snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. It happens over 162 games, but that still doesn't mean its ok to brush those L's under the carpet.
