Hernandez is terrible. .296 OBP with the white Sox. 0.9 WAR for the year. Awful player. He creates a big hole in the lineup in a playoff series

He's fine. You don't need every guy in the lineup to be Babe Ruth. He's slick as can be at second which is important because Anderson isn't the greatest defensive shortstop (even though he is better than I ever thought he could be). Yeah, I'd rather have Madrigal's offense, but he is out for the season anyway. Hernandez is an elite fielder with a power bat. Are there better second basemen? Yeah, but I doubt Altuve was available.

I know it was a sweep but I'm not satisfied with that series. That is a team they should have rolled. I know they had to rely heavily on the bullpen with two short starts but there is almost no dangerous part of the Pirate lineup.

I'm hoping the bats come out in KC. They will need it with Keuchel starting.

Reynaldo Lopez has turned out to be a pretty important part of this team. He'll probably give them close to 60 innings and 10 spot starts along with a host of great BP appearances. If it is down to him or Keuchel for the playoff roster, they better not be deferring to the veteran with the big contract.

It wasn't really hard. Just take away his shitty pitches. I know it's a point of pride for both Latino and Japanese pitchers to throw a million different pitches but you're better off just using two good ones rather than mixing another four mediocre ones in there.

Lopez had eye surgery to correct blurred vision as well, and he said that helped a ton. He wasn't able to see all of the catcher's signs, or if he indicated to throw a pitch up or outside, etc. Lopez said he wasn't throwing with conviction, and now he is.

Just had to fix his eyesight like Rick Vaughn! He should have switched to #99.

Just win games. Every day the inch closer and closer to clinching the Central. If the Sox play 5 under .500 from here on out, Cleveland still has to go something like 19-3 to overtake the Sox. Sure I'd like to see 9 run victories against the Pirates, but the end result is all that matters now.

Take days off the schedule, win games, get healthy for the playoffs. The Sox magic number is 22.
