Tweet Scott Merkin @scottmerkin La Russa had a heart to heart with Vaughn about not playing him today. Said the plan for '22 is to certainly play Vaughn more than last year. Added coaching staff debated started lineup for 15 to 20 minutes yesterday. |

I dont trust Hendricks in the 9th. He's overrated. Opening Day will be the rule for him, not the exception. One of these guys that came out of nowhere, then when u start to count on him, he fails. One of those guys that tries to project himself as tough and fiery, but really he's an ordinary pitcher. |

Here's the problem. He doesn't walk anybody and guys are way too comfortable in there looking for their pitch. Gonna have to "pitch inside". |
