It all boils down to winning it all. Making the playoffs isn't good enough. Maybe if you're a cub fan it is. Right now, it's not close to a championship team.

Of course the goal for this team is winning it all. But still that is not happening today. Lots of season left, a ton of talent, and a trade deadline to help fill in the holes on the team.

Not a lot of trade chips, especially if you're set on keeping Vaughn. Pitching still looks thin to me, even though it's been ok given the injuries.

The way the team has been built, the season is World Series or bust. Anything short of winning the American League pennant is a failed season.

Defense is Terrible.
Aaron Bummer is not a setup guy.
Liam Hendricks and no movement fastball isn't blowing past anyone.
No depth at starting pitching.

It's a long season and they could very well fix this and win the division, but a deep playoff run isn't happening with this group.

During post-game Friday....Chuck Garfein, who is usually pretty dry asked Ozzie "where's the Vodka....I can't believe they lost this game". Thanks Chuck....that's actually the highlight of the season thus far.
