Ok, I see what you are saying.

I think we definitely got the better match up in the end.

Here's my thinking. Ruiz had faced 3. He's a known at that point. Sousa, a rookie, is an unknown. Say he's jittery. Maybe walks the guy. Now we're stuck with him for 2 more batters.
We had a known vs an unknown. I liked the known matchup. Obviously, the SINGULAR matchup was decent either way.

I agree with you. The more you change pitchers, the better the chance that you'll find the guy who is having a bad day.

I was thinking that there is far less known about Souza then there is about Bradley.

I really didn't see Cora pinch hitting for Bradley though. Especially with a guy hitting .138.

And Bradley is a career .230 hitter. .209 this year. Both matchups were fine for us. It's what happens if a singular matchup goes against us in a 3-2 game and Sousa is out there for 2 more batters.

I didn't think they'd be able to go on a long winning streak while Velazquez and Keuchel were still in the rotation.

You can be an acceptable back end of the rotation guy when you don't walk people.

Could have stopped right there. I did not think they had a long streak in them at all. Certainly not with the way they were playing.

Moncada and Joe Kelly on track to be with the big club this week.

I'm happy to have been proven wrong.

They won 6 in a row without scoring more than 4 runs per game. It's been all bullpen with some great starts mixed in. When this team starts to hit they are going to be very good. If Moncada hits like he did in 2019 they are the best team in the American League.

The bullpen is getting better. Foster looks like 2020. Kelly is joining the team. And Bummer taking some time is ideal. It's a long, long season. But things are pointing up.

I tried to tell you guys.

There will be some rough moments along the way with the injuries. But this team has too much talent to stay down for long

Nothing that happens today is making or breaking the season.

They are going to get hot at some point and roll off several wins in a row. There is too much talent there to not.

Relax.

Please point to where I've recently said this is now a a guaranteed playoff or World Series team.

I'm simply happy they are playing better and winning games. Its a long season and this team still has a lot to prove. Winning the pennant is the bar for this year to be a success. The Sox are either playing in the upcoming World Series or this entire season is a failure under any circumstances.

Winning a series at Boston no matter their record is not slaying bums.

Because they have talent. The AL East is loaded. And Fenway is a tough place to play.

That does not change anything I said.

This is not like winning a series at Cincy or KC.

He got off to a slow start but has been on fire of late, and could have been playing second base for the White Sox if Jerry wasn't so cheap

Story when good = Good job being cheap, Jerry!

I can’t believe Rich Hill is still in the league.

Ozzie had him out of the league 16yrs ago.
