Who are you speaking of? All I see is Cease and Kopech. With Cease turning down a contract extension a year or two ago, I don't even know if they can keep him.

That's all you need. It's a lot easier to find 3-5 in your rotation.

Cease started (and dominated) yesterday so he would not have been eligible to pitch anyway. Still he deserves to be out there on the field and be recognized as being one of the very best pitchers in MLB.

He was GREAT the season he was traded. Quintana was like 8-2 after the trade. He was largely responsible for the Cubs making the playoffs. IIRC he beat Max Scherzer in his first playoff game. Cease hasn't done anything as important in his career.

Outside of owning the Brewers, Quintana was AWFUL the rest of his time with the Cubs.

I get your point, but I'd hardly call it worst....it's turning out to be underwhelming, just as the haul from Adam Eaton isn't all that special. What we do know is getting Cease alone for Quintana is the winner!

Lopez has reinvented himself as a key reliever, and he has been throwing well enough that he may get another crack at the rotation. They also received Dane Dunning in that trade, whom they flipped for Lynn. That's a pretty good haul for a known douchebag in Eaton.
