A shade early but why not...

The biggest upside over TLR was the perceived ability to order an intentional walk to before the first pitch and not soling himself in the dugout.

Any chance you have to get a coach from an organization that hasn't had a winning season in 7 years you have to do it.

I'm optimistic that they went with an outsider. The White Sox way sucks. Not saying the Royals are great, but hopefully Pedro can come in and do things his way. I would like to see Darryl Boston and Joe McEwing gone. I wouldn't care if Katz gets the heave ho as well.

I was fine with Espada or Ozzie. Missouri was the last place I thought we would import a manager from. It takes months to remove that smell.

I don't like the idea of hiring a fired bench coach from a worse team with arguably a worse former manager (Matheny) than your own recently fired manager (TLR).

They should have hired Kevin Long, especially since they were going to keep Ethan Katz anyway.

Heard on MLB Network Radio that someone (Rosenthal?) is reporting that Katz is coming back but not all the coaches will come back.

I would figure that McEwing will be gone at a minium, and that Grifol will want his own bench coach.
