The story of the last season at Comiskey Park. Coming to YouTube March 2023.

Pretty awesome.

I mean, if you're just talking regular season, I might buy it. But a 11-1 run to the trophy, c'mon man. I almost passed out after the last out.

That’s crazy talk. Wire to wire, all time playoff performance World Series winner?

Yes and no. Believe it or not, friend. Terry's Peeps also gave me grief about this.

Yes: a) Personal stuff that is probably boring but is still significant to me. b) I worked down the street that year. c) Last season at Kaminskey! d) Amazing resurgence, which I won $10 from a friend (I predicted they'd win 85 games after the second half of '89). e) Favorite Sox unis!

No: Well, 2005 . . . start 24-7, finish 16-1 . . . that staff, Konerko's slam, AJ's ninth-inning homer against LA . . . three closers . . . Juan Uribe's glove . . . see, the thing is, I still don't really believe it happened. I saw CH's shrink for a while, and he suggested that I the shock of bad owner decisions left me feeling unable to experience true joy.

Without a doubt. Peter Gammons even said at the time that they were one of the four best teams of the past 25 years. That was a solid team that had pitching. They win 9.5/10 times in replays.

But goddamnit....I've never been able to enjoy this, despite having watched the entire playoffs 20-25 times...

WTF? You should have 3 or 4 teams, tops. I've '77, '83, '05. The rest are really all pedestrian other than the strike year. And frankly, Cleveland would have won anyway.

Yeah, Nas' cousin and uncle were at the craps table and came up big. But the team was what it was. The best by a long shot.

I was at a local bar for the last out when the cubs won and there was this beefier chick completely hammered hitting on me and people were laughing

That was one of my favorite years as well. Generally error free baseball and lots of hustle helped. I had higher hopes for the team as a result.

But 77 was wild as a kid who’d never seen them do dick.

I liked the full tailed "White Sox" script that they wore up until midway through the '90 season. Always wanted to see it come back on the jackets or the practice jerseys.

90 was a tremendously fun year. They came out of nowhere and made it interesting all year, despite the fact that it was still the LCS era. You've got to put 05 on the top of your list, but 90 was probably more fun.

Also, I agree with Nardi about 94. People talk about that team like it was going to win the World Series, but I don't think they were even going to win that division.

I think the Indians of the '90s were the best team (over a few years period) to never win it all. It would have been a battle that season for the division. Both had solid starting staffs (no clue on bullpen), but the Tribe had no holes in their lineup, and if they did, it was Vizquel, who more than made up for any lack of production. I know that the Indians were just getting started in '94, but it would have been a dogfight.

'90 wins for me for other reasons. That was just a re-birth. Reinsdorf made sure to turn into into an afterbirth with his insane cheapness. Let's get Charlie Haugh and Tim Belcher and Dave Steib.

I loved both!

They wore those until the last homestand of '90.

I remember Bernie Lincicome writing, "I'm not exactly sure what that is on the new Sox caps but I wonder if it bites."

Having gone to that ballpark with family and friends since the early seventies, I still don't have a special tug for all place. Except that it was gloriously grit and grime.

Winning Ugly was probably my favorite Sox season. That Tito Landrum home run still hurts. 90 was a very good year too. Always felt that if not for the Roided up A's that the Sox would have won it all that year. Even though they didn't make the playoffs. 05 of Course and 93 and 94. The top 5 White Sox Years of my lifetime.

Long Time Comiskey Guy. We used to walk to the game back then. I kept a lot of the paraphernalia for a lot of years and then after awhile it just sort of disappeared.

Yeah the peeling paint and all. I loved the place. When LaRussa put Fisk in the 2nd spot in the batting order in 83 it was so unconventional but it worked to perfection and they just took off after that.
