that mfer was 77 years old and the sox indulged a lot of behavior that was starting to become bizarre. Hawk only called Sunday home games during his last season. There is no way he should not have been allowed to continue to do just that. At the very least, he should have been offered to fill in for Bennetti when he does his national games. He never was perfect, but like it or not he is a legend and a character of the game. I listened to the entire thing. The biggest part of this is how he destroyed Brooks Boyer. He basically said that Brooks is the one that convinced Reinsdorf to fire him. Then he said that Jerry's word used to mean something. Which I took as Jerry telling Hawk that he could do this as long as he wanted. Then changed his mind cuz of Brooks Boyer. So Hawk is really pissed at Brooks. But it sounds like he doesn't like Jerry anymore. Hawk used to always rave about Jerry. He loved him. Hawk said that the Sox were a good organization until Brooks got there. Brooks has been there for 20 years or so. Which means Hawk didn't like things for 15 years. Anyway, Hawk said he'll tell the entire story in his book. It's gonna be all about his White Sox days. Nothing else but that. |

I love Hawk. Especially his stories. The current White Sox announcing "team" are shitty with the exception of Steve Stone who gets neutered by the idiot Benetti. He broadcasts the way a 6th grader would to a classroom of his peers. |

The Sox organization sucked before Boyer. Gallas, their pr man, was openly hostile to fans and was so far behind the times that Boyer looked like some genius just by catching up to what the rest of baseball was doing. It all flows from JR though. Aggravated Sox Fan Bob was correct, Weird Jerry. |
