Is anyone suggesting that he is a HOF player? I've seen suggestions that he play more which sounds reasonable considering he's our best power hitter. Seems reasonable to make sure he's in the lineup everyday.

My oldest son was in Vegas for a golf tournament last week-end and bet on the Sox game on Sunday at the Golden Nugget downtown sportsbook. His bet was such that he had to give up one and a half runs in order to win the bet. So he's with his buddy at the sportsbook and realizes that Anderson had to get a walk and for the Sox to win the game, the only way for him to win his bet on the tied game was for Burger to hit a grand slam. He said as soon as Burger hit that pitch into the air he started yelling "STRETCH" and then of course, "You can put it on the board.......YES"!! That must have been really cool to see, eh?

Burger should be playing 3B four days a week and DH once or twice a week. If that means Moncada has to sit on the bench and be a late innings defensive replacement, so be it. He had his chances to be a guaranteed regular and he has fucked them up.

I have just watched the POS Diekman for the Rays throw bee bees to the Twins in relief. He looked great and hitters were pretty much over-matched. Amazing how moving to the Rays brought life back and brought his command of the strike zone with it. He was just getting the ball and dealing. Not picking at the corners and walking guys or falling behind and then having to come in to the middle of the plate. It tells you something when you see this happen.

Don't worry, there will be a time where he won't hold a runner on, or throw to the wrong base, or won't backup a bag, or won't field a routine one hopper. Guy's strictly a mercenary thrower. He's ecstatic if he manages to find the plate. I can only hope he's a high leverage guy for the Rays in the playoffs.
