I would love for a real pitching guru to interrogate the Sox coaches on why the starters waste so many pitches. When a guy is up 0-2 or 1-2 on a hitter, take the fucker out, don't waste a pitch. At least mix it up. Against good teams especially when they are looking for getting on base anyway that they can.
