Jesus, Villar and Simmons got $6M and $4M respectively from the Cubs. Anderson will easily get 1/8. He'd be an upgrade even in his current condition over what the Dodgers were running out there, they had Amed Rosario and Kolten Wong playing 2B.

What is a slight step back from 101 losses?

Though in actuality losing TA is addition by subtraction.

Tim Anderson brings an entitlement, lack of hustle, and a low baseball IQ tag with him to his new team. He's not like a typical FA coming off a bad year who's a hardworking team first player. Past productivity history hoping for a bounce back year weighed against him poisoning the organization has to bring his value down compared to a similar on field equal FA. He's a huge gamble with all his baggage.

He will get much more than that on a one year deal. I could see the Red Sox or Dodgers signing him.

He had 1 hr and 25 RBI last year. Some small market team will sign him for less than the Sox option that was declined. They will hope he turns it around so they can flip him at the deadline.

Based on his attitude and his effort he should get a one year prove it deal and that's about it.

They need more balacks on the team since Mookie left. If Jim Rice could.last there so can Jackie for a year.

Most guys seem to be able to fake it for a year to get a longer deal. I think Timmy can play and act nice for a season in an effort to get paid a year from now. Of course he may just suck again and then basically his career will be over.

In White Sox World, a step back would be trying to be a .500 club and only losing 90 games. Really surprised they let TA go, but I understand it. He must have been even worse than we all thought he was off the field. A great day for noted Sox fan brogue.

The only way to go from being a 4 years in a row .300 hitter to THIS, is a total mental breakdown. So yes, I also understand it. He has a ton of baggage here.

A .320/.330 hitter at that. He also hit 38 home runs from 2018-2019. In the four seasons since, he has 24 total.

They allegedly "desperately tried" to trade him before declining his option.

The problem is it only costs 1 mildough to release him. I don't see "desperate" in the equation. They certainly weren't going eat any more than a few mildough.

I would have bet on a bounce back if I were the Sox. Maybe he gets his house in order and can cover SS until/if Montgomery is ready

They seem to be on a kick of hiring former AL Central standouts (Grady Sizemore & Marcus Thames) for their coaching staff. I wonder what Travis Fryman is up to?

I might have missed the post here, but they also hired an assistant coach from Rice to head Player Development. 1) Rice hasn't been good for a while B) Whoever this is, he jumped up the list of qualified candidates by how many? two or three thousand?

Because;

Quote:
After being released by the Rockies at the end of Spring Training, Janish signed a minor league deal with the Kansas City Royals on July 4. He reported to the AAA affiliate Omaha Storm Chasers. He elected free agency after the 2014 season.

Inexplicably, they are keeping Ethan Katz.

Bruce Levine doing his signature groveling shtick said "Tim Anderson is one of the most popular White Sox in the last 40 years." Top? Maybe top 50? He failed to mention he's imploded into one of the least favorite also.

Why were the Cubs a better team than the White Sox (22 more wins)? The Cubs had great defense. And that's what the White Sox will seek.
-Bruce Levine

'23 errors & MLB most errors rank
95 White Sox 6th (Mid D only 9 more than Cubs)
92 Cubs 9th
57 Rangers 29th
56 D'backs 30th
