Might as well get this started now. It looks like they're interested in two broken down old Royals:

That sounds about right.

 I was just reading about this.

Both great players in their primes and they would have been great to add...4-5 years ago.

what this tells me is they know there is a huge void in leadership on the team. getting these 2 guys will solve that problem. especially sally.

He can also manage a pitching staff well so that's a plus.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I don't know what the fetish with the Royals is with this club. Its been going on for years with almost awful results all of the time;

Mark Teahan
Andrew Sisco
Mike MacDougal
Pedro Grifol
Melky Cabrera, was decent for the Sox I suppose
Hanser Alberto
Billy Hamilton
Jon fucking Jay

Bo Jackson might be the only guy who was even a mild success

Good God. I had willfully suppressed the memory of most of those players. But, now that you've jogged my memory, let's add Mike MacDougal to the list.

Maybe Rick, Kenny, and now Chris think because the Royals have kicked the dogshit out of the Sox the last couple years that the players on the Royals are actually good?

Has Caller Bob once again gotten on the White Sox for not going after Ohtani?

If the White Sox traded for Perez, why would they give up anything of value? Why would they not demand that KC pays for most (like $25-30M of the $42M) of the remaining money? He's a declining player and while I'm not opposed to having a veteran catcher who can help their younger catching, it makes no sense to spend on a 34 catcher whose skills are eroding rapidly. Having a veteran mentor is not worth anything close to what that remaining value is and if they need Perez that badly to help Grifol, that is alarming.

Merrifield is more interesting to me, but I didn't realize he was 34 years old. Giving a multi-year deal to a 34 year old will likely not turn out well. Again, seems like a bad idea if you're doing anything other than 1 year deal.

Imagine not wanting to pay Bryce Harper$25 million and wanting to pay washed up Salvador Perez $21 million.

For those of you who play Immaculate Grid, there's a White Sox/Royals team intersection today. This thread could be a boon for you.
