The White Sox have a theme song. Steady yourselves. The Sox have adopted Journey's 1981 hit "Don't Stop Believin'" as their postseason rallying cry, with A.J. Pierzynski blaring the tune in the clubhouse after the team's American League pennant-clinching victory over the Angels on Sunday. The players also sang the tune on the flight home from Anaheim. Now the Sox have invited former Journey frontman Steve Perry to Chicago as a guest for Game 1 of the World Series Saturday at the Cell. "A.J. said, `We've got to get this guy to the World Series,'" Sox vice president of communications, Scott Reifert, told the Tribune. "Now we're just trying to see what we can do and how we can do it." |

What I would like to know if the tune was a property of the clubhouse at the Angels' stadium or something from A.J.'s collection. I sure hope it's the former. |

The whole back story to this has already been explained on the radio several times. It's a joke that took on a life of its own. I thought all you guys religiously listened to the radio hoping to hear something about this board so how could you have missed it? |

All I heard was they happen to be drinking out somewhere, with a Journey cover band, the band played it and also the Park Dj was requested to play it by the dugout As long as we know it is a joke are the players making fun of the black concert tshirt wearing, trailor dwelling Sox fans that actually had the tune in the care before the tune was played. |

www.journeymusic.com DON'T STOP BELIEVIN' Journey Written by: S. Perry/N. Schon/J. Cain Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world She took the midnight train goin' anywhere... Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit He took the midnight train goin' anywhere... A singer in a smokey room, the smell of wine and cheap perfume For a smile they can share the night It goes on and on and on and on... Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard Their shadows searching in the night Streetlight people, living just to find emotion Hiding, somewhere in the night Working hard to get my fill, everybody wants a thrill Payin' anything to roll the dice, just one more time Some will win, some will lose Some were born to sing the blues Oh, the movie never ends It goes on and on and on and on (chorus) Don't stop believin' Hold on to the feelin' Streetlight people |

I can hear the gears in Dahl's head turning: "Groban Demolition, Journey Demolition, Hairband Demolition. Which one should I do and again become the king of Chicago radio?" |

While I can't deny the large gay population that resides within the area East of Wrigley, which someone according to some influencs the sexuality of the fans. Today driving home while listening to WSCR and a couple of guys singing Journey songs like they had their nuts in a vice (Insert joke here), but I reall have to ask was it a bunch of guys clapping in unison to some other guy on stage singing Journey songs on the tough south side? Does being a Sox fan blind you to the homosexuality of this type of acitivty? I really am baffled by the Josh Groban thing though. While I know the AR guys always try to use the spotlight to promote an act, usually it is done with some marketing synergy. I have inquired and should be able to 'spalin by Monday. |
