Touche, RFDC...Unlike B.A., Wise was hitting the ball better since getting booed out of the leadoff spot.

According the Sox website, they only have the 4 OFs on the 40man roster. A couple of moves are gonna have to be made here, unless they plan on putting Alexei in CF.

BA has 2 walks and a steal today.

Frank, it seems like a longshot that Alexei will move back to centerfield, but that's where he started last season before replacing Juan Uribe as the everyday second baseman in Anaheim last May. There have been callers to The SCORE suggesting Ramirez possibly moving back to center, especially because Gordon Beckham is also a natural shortstop and has been playing there at Double "A" Birmingham.

BA had 2 stolen bases today. That should make him look better under Musty Bobby's base running 'eye test'.

I have to think a roster move or two are in the cards in the wake of the Wise separated shoulder, and let's not forget second baseman Chris Getz didn't play today due to a bruised right triceps. I thought I read earlier that #17 might not be available this entire series in his hometown area as a result of what happened yesterday vs. Minnesota.

Speaking of second basemen, what's the story with Jayson Nix? The White Sox placed the new #5 on the disabled list with a quad injury before they broke camp in Glendale, AZ. I have to think he's got to be ready to start a rehab assignment before too much longer, especially if the Getz triceps injury lingers beyond this series in Detroit...I know they have Wilson Betemit on the bench, but I've heard less than great things about #15 covering the tabs at either shortstop or second base defensively.

Farmer sucks...I just heard his home run call for Quentin and he made it sound as though it was a base hit up the middle....

Spmack, sometimes a homer Farmer calls doesn't sound like it, and Ed doesn't go crazy! When Chris Singleton was working the games with Farmer early on, the former White Sox outfielder didn't sound excited whenever he called PBP in the middle innings...

By Mark Gonzales

DETROIT - The White Sox agreed to terms on a minor league contract with outfielder Scott Podsednik, one of their 2005 World Series heroes who was recently cut by Colorado.

I take it they haven't announced a makeup game for today's rainout at Comerica Park...I know the White Sox have 2 more trips in the regular season, and I bet one of the dates is a stupid day-night doubleheader, which I absolutely cannot stand!

Off day on October 1st before the season finale could be possible.

Murph is on The SCORE right now, and he thinks they should play a doubleheader tomorrow...I predict that it'll be part of the second or third trips the Sox make to Detroit when they make today's game up, Frank.

Murph thinks that they should play a DH tomorrow, on get-away day, when there are several series remaining between the two teams? Not to mention that it's only the second week of the season?

BREAKING NEWS: Murph is an idiot.

Murph says the White Sox are on a stretch without an off day, even though they're supposed to be off Monday before a trip to Baltimore, and then April 30th before their next road trip starts at the Ballpark in Arlington, TX vs. a Rangers' team that can't seem to make up its mind concerning its uniforms and their caps. Is it red or is it blue?

I don't think they've announced a makeup date for the White Sox & Tigers yet, but the Southsiders head back to Comerica Park July 24-26, and the last series of the regular season October 2-5 in Detroit that may or may not mean anything...I would look at July 24th for a make-up game between these two teams, and a stupid day-night doubleheader in all likelihood...

Jose looks good early. Hopefully he can keep it going for another 5 innings.

Would've been nice to jump out to an early 1-0 lead there.

Contreras actually pitched against Jackie Robinson

Why is Grandpa Joe droppin down sidearm so much today? Does he always do that this much? Ive seen him do it sparingly...but it seems like most pitches today

Jose Contreras' recovery from this Achilles injury has been remarkable. From what I've heard, Contreras' injury normally takes a whole year to heal. If he & Bartolo Colon can continue to provide solid pitching from the #4 & #5 spots in the rotation, the White Sox might be in position to repeat as division champions...

By that logic, asswipe, Podsednik should be the leadoff man for the Sox because he did well in '05.
