He looks like he's seeing the ball good and he never gets cheated on his swing. I admit to being concerned that maybe he would falter a little but he looks good right now. Especially in the dome in Tampa so I cant wait for it to warm up in Chicago.

Setting the over under at 4 hours from now before bigfan swoops in to let us know that CQ is on the juice.

Take the under.

I don't necessarily think CQ is on the juice, but what makes you think the Sox are cleaner than other teams?

The 2003 White Sox almost forced the league's hand in publicizing the results of anonymous steroid testing. It's a very cool story.

Quote:
Kelly Wunsch said that the Chicago White Sox never planned to challenge Major League Baseball's steroid testing rules, but they did so last March. As players circulated a drug test acceptance form, Wunsch said, a few wondered what would happen if they refused to be tested. What would happen, the White Sox players learned, is that they could seriously influence the future of testing.

When 16 of the 37 players on the roster did not want to be tested initially, they found out that a refusal would count as a positive and would increase the chances that major leaguers would surpass the 5 percent threshold to activate stricter testing in 2004. Some had the foresight to realize they could have an impact on forcing mandatory tests by declining to be tested this year.

After Wunsch, the White Sox player representative, discussed this with the union, Gene Orza, the union's associate general counsel, told him that each refusal would be reviewed and that almost no reasons for bypassing the test would be permitted. The holdouts, some of whom Sandy Alomar Jr. said were pushed into their decisions by veteran players, nonetheless sent a message about their desire for testing to ensure that everyone would be on an even playing field in the future. Wunsch said the 16 players eventually gave their urine samples.

''It was never meant to be a political statement or something to get media attention,'' Wunsch said last week in a telephone interview. ''If somebody respects us for doing that, that's fine. I don't think that we deserve any more respect than anybody who doesn't want cheating in the game.''

Carlos seems to be picking up where he left off before breaking his wrist in anger vs. Cliff Lee and the Indians at (Not So) Progressive Field in Cleveland last September...That and constantly getting plucked by a pitch by his Jose Canseco-like batting stance...

I agree, got to give props to kenny for bringing him here, if only Alexi would step up, I'm more afraid of him being a one year wonder, but I suspect that he'll heat up soon.

I do not see any reason for the White Sox to be exempt from suspicion regarding steriods. Again, I am not suggesting CQ is on the juice, but I would bet they had just as many that were involved as any other team. IMO no teams or players are exempt from suspicion.

Well, did Albert Belle show up to camp one year incredibly bigger than he was the year before like Sosa did?
Did Albert Belle go from hitting a few (relatively speaking) homeruns each year to bashing 60+ in just one year?
Was Albert Belle served a subpeona to testify before congress on steriod use?

No.

Replace Belle's name with Sammy Sosa and the answer to all questions becomes a resoundning yes.

Now, I don't have proof for Sosa either, but the evidence for him is far more convincing and overwhelming than anything against Belle.

^ Worth the 30 seconds it takes to read at least the quote. Not necessarily saying that the White Sox of 2009 are any less subject to suspicion of PED abuse due to the actions of some players in 2003, but this is why the White Sox, as an organization, are held in such high regard on the issue.

Frank sosa was hitting 30 before he allegedly took flintstone vitamins...subpoena? so I guess Schilling is on the juice?

But logically...you think Belle purposely used cork...but didnt use steroids...

cmon

So logically, you could think that I take steroids because you have as much proof on that as anyone has on sosa?

We found out all we needed to know about Sammy Sosa's steroid use when he forgot how to speak English in front of Congress. That is more proof than Belle, who may very well have done it too.

Anyone that actually thinks Belle is clean is fooling themselves. Sosa and Belle were both on the juice, along with many many others.

I think you're right about Sammy & Albert, RFDC...For the $55 million the White Sox paid Albert in 1996 as a free agent, that guy was an absolute jerk to the media & the fans when he was here!

Jerkiness aside, there is much more evidence Sosa was than Belle.

Dont worry Frank...it will all come out....Canceco just hasnt gotten to the al central yet...he's on the way.

Why do you think he played for every team he possibly could...it was his "collecting evidence tour"

Guys, I think the next time Jose Canseco drops dime on "The Dan Patrick Show", I wonder if he'll stab his White Sox teammates in the back... :?

I'm still waiting for someone to seriously call out Tiger Woods. The guy was a prototypical skinny dork even after his main growing years. Not anymore. But I'm sure it's just weight training.
