Judging from the rest of his posts, an ex-employee of the score.

Gotta respect Ranger for addressing his critics, but still would have liked to see him place his name in the Sox wager thread.

The White Sox, realisticly, will have a tough time winning anything this year with a piece meal lineup, a shitty closer, and used up spare parts as main cogs that should be on teams closer to a championship, in limited roles.

And nothing is gonna change that fact.

Cup- Dick sucking lips and no gag reflex dont make you a better White Sox fan, Chris, it just makes you look like more of a bitch.

Wow. You must have called in been rightfully torn apart. A "s***ty closer"? Well, there goes YOUR credibility.

You may not be a mouth-breathing imbecile, but you sure talk like one.

Huh?
This coming from the foaming mouth of anybody who dare critiques anything a Sox fan says that doesnt go along with the "do's and dont" sheet in front of you?

How many times does a simple minded fool, hold on, lemme find an example....like you, blast the shit out of anybody who dares question any of the moves your meal ticket makes?

You just deflected everything thrown your way from the first post, is Uncle Jerry not rubbing his hand on your thigh?

Ask an intelligent question and I might answer you. Continue to be a complete d-bag, and you can go kick rocks. How's that?

I don't think I've ever looked at the wager thread. Not much of a betting guy.

He was a cardinals fan, so I'm thinking either Pedro Guerrero, Ozzie Smith, or John Tudor?

Why thank you, Ranger. Considering your overall baseball acumen, I take that as a compliment.

I don't know what you're getting at, but I did like Ozzie Smith as a kid. And for some reason I loved Willie McGee. The thing is, I don't think I have one all-time favorite player. I am/have been a huge fan of Ichiro, Griffey, Frank, and Pujols. Those guys are/were as impressive as anyone I've seen.

Now, what's with the "one day you'll see" thing?

It mainly, speaking of the Cubs, consists of "These guys fucking blow," which is precisely why I consider him the baseball expert on the board.

Now Franklin, I have many other insightful baseball thoughts strewn about this board. However, the above does describe the Cubs of my lifetime and is a catchall phrase when talking about the current roster. Hendry screwed the pooch with this group of overpaid stiffs.
Besides, I couldn't take the cut in pay to just talk about baseball on the radio.

Ranger, shouldn't you be studying the company line for the post-game show instead of posting here during a game? :D

1. not sure why cub fans would have an opinion on rongey.
2. i wonder what he said last night after the game. "I'm not worried, the offense has improved and floyd will get better....la dee da."

First you must reflect on this question: Can God create a boulder so big that not even He can move it? Answer this question and all others will become apparent.

1) Why wouldn't they?
2) Don't criticize something you didn't hear.

you know though, chris, if that's who you are on the air then more power to you. in life, you have to be true to yourself. even da coach may have said that. i, myself, would take the doug and OB approach to post game wrap ups.

And while they are good at what they do and are entertaining, I would not and do not.

I don't overreact. I don't scream. I don't think the world is coming apart after a losing streak. I don't do the daily, emotional rollercoaster that sports talk hosts love to exploit. I'm not that guy. Unlike a lot of people in my industry, I remember what I said about a guy two weeks ago. And I also think people often confuse pessimism with realism. "Well, I'm just being realistic!" No, you're being a pessimist. There's a difference. Pessimism is an assumption that everything that can go wrong will go wrong, and some things that should not go wrong will probably go wrong, too, because the world is against you and your team. And being a pessimist is the easiest thing in the world to do, because there are two possible outcomes at the end of the season and they both benefit you: 1) you get to tell everyone, "I told you so" or, 2) you're proven wrong, nobody remembers you were being a pessimistic a-hole, and you still get to celebrate with everyone else.

Let me also say that the Doug and OB approach is much easier -- and understandable -- to do with football because 1 loss is the equivalent to 10 in baseball. Every time the bears lose a game, it's like they're on a 10-game slide. That would be too much for any baseball fan to handle. I'd probably lose it.

i think it depends on what your boss wants you to do and what your future aspirations are.

but to get people to listen to radio you have to be emotional (not necessarily pessimistic). think about the guys who are (were) big stars in radio. They didn't get to be that way by being calm, cool, and rational. well, maybe wally phillips was calm and cool, but you get my point. harry caray was a great example. a homer, sure, but he would get downright disgusted at times and you could tell it in his voice. mike north, rush limbaugh, mancow, stern, steve dahl....these guys are borderline nuts. that's why people listen.

cool, calm, and rational is for WBEZ.

that being said, i like that you face critics here and you don't back down from a-holes on the air.

I don't have any desire to be like half of the people you just used as examples (a couple of them I'm ok with, and Stern is not irrational. Stern is a pioneer because the stuff he did/does is different and clever). I'll take being rational over being an asshat any day. Even if that means it's at the expense of becoming a "star".

The show I do is not meant to be driven by an irrational nimrod.

I just lamented the loss of the Doug/OB show, but that tenor would never work with a baseball postgame. There can't be that much outrage every day for six months.

Exactly.

Supercup, it's obvious nobody here is interested in what you have to say. Hence the reason nobody else is responding to you and why this will be my last acknowledgment of your posts. Mainly because you can't come up with a single intelligent question or comment. If you do, things could change.
