He had to be helped off the field at Angel Stadium after he drove home the third run of the top 1st. I noticed Joey Cora appears to be once again pinch hitting, sort of speak, for Ozzie in the dugout while he continues to attend to his ailing father.

NIce offensive output so far. I want to see Danks pitch at least thru 6 giving up not more than 1 more run.

They really need to DL Quentin and get him back to 100%.

He's throwing a gazillion pitches and will be lucky to get through 5.

Agreed on Quentin - put him on the DL and don't take him off until there's no doubt that he's 100%, whether that is just 2 weeks or 6 weeks.

A quick update...Ozzie Guillen's father-in-law passed away, which explains why Joey Cora is the acting manager in tonight's game vs. the Anaheim Angels. Guillen may rejoin the team as soon as tomorrow night, but Cora may be filling out the lineup card again this weekend when the White Sox head to Kansas City.

Gutsy performance by Danks. He had nothing.

The White Sox offense, even before the Quentin injury, belted out 24 hits and 17 runs in their laugher late last night in Anaheim by a football-like final of 17-3 over the Angels at Angel Stadium. Acting manager Joey Cora hinted after the game last night that Carlos could be DL-bound after reaggravating his heel injury in the top 1st when the Sox put 3 of their 17 runs on the board.

Joe Cowley, the White Sox scribe for the Sun-Times & 670 The SCORE's White Sox Insider, says Carlos Quentin's being fitted for a special boot and is coming back to Chicago for further evaluations. You won't see #20 in silver & black the rest of the road trip, but they're hopeful that Quentin returns to the lineup when the Oakland A's visit "The Cell" Monday night. Something tells me that Carlos could be headed for the DL instead...As for tonight, two notable changes in the Sox lineup. Jayson "I should be wearing #6, not #5" Nix plays at second base with Corky Miller (Genuine Draft) starting behind the plate with the Sox dealing with lefty Joe Saunders and the Anaheim Angels. Interestingly enough, when Miller's starting behind the plate in limited action, the Sox team ERA is a run less than when Anthony John Pierzynski is catching.

That was one hell of a play by Nix. That guy can really pick it at 2B.

You spoke too soon.

I could get used to this winning on the West Coast.

Actually, ever since the '05 ALCS, they have done very well in Anahiem. Not so much for the rest of California, but pretty well in Anahiem.

Frank, I bet one of those guys made ESPN's "Baseball Tonight" and "SportsCenter's Top 10" flashing serious leather last night...

Tonights game worries me. If Gavin lets these fast fuckers on base they will get in his head and run him out of the park.

Go right after them Gavin, no walks big guy.

Jared Weaver cooled off the Sox bats, but at least Gavin Floyd pitched a better game. If he can continue to pitch like that, the Sox will be in much better shape. Going the distance and striking out 8 against the Angels, is a very nice effort.

Weaver is clearly in Sox hitter's heads. He's good, but its mental with him.

Fairly good series nonetheless.

Top 2-3 ERA in the AL, one of the best young pitchers in MLB...I think you meant that you are mental.
