And the last two as well. This team flat-out sucks. I hope the Cell is empty when they return, who wants to watch a shit-ass team like this? Not me.

Kenny, you gotta put together a better team than this next year, or for sure you'll have no money for improvements.

these 2 losses have been tough to watch, but at least it's against Boston... I was really deflated after losing the home series to a Baltimore team that hadn't won a series since the allstar break.

I had thought that the Cubs might have an opportunity to beat a team with a winning record, when the Sux finally play them in the Make-up game at the end of this trip. But by then the Sux will also be a team with a losing record.

I highly doubt I will enjoy Soriano the next 5 years. Hell, I never wanted him. I have been critical of him since before he was signed and have railed against him the past few years on this board. I would have signed Carlos Lee instead back then. I never would have signed Bradley either, but Abreau or Ibanez instead. But Hendry has made different choices and I'm not going to stop pulling for the Cubs, just because Hendry makes some bad choices.

The Cubs just want your money...we aren't 12 anymore.
These professional teams are in the entertainment business.....
Hendry set back the Cubs for the next 5 years at least.

I still can't believe Ozzie plays the Panzy everyday. This team is struggling to score runs and everyday Ozzie has a run producer on the bench. Thome (23/72), Dye (24/71), Konerko (23/75), Rios (15/64) or Quentin (14/33) is on the bench while the little whinny bitch loses games with his terrible defense and awful baserunning. I'm not saying bench him but how about leading off Nix once in a while. I'd like to see what a lineup with CQ, Thome, Dye , Konerko and Rios could do.

Keyser, even though I'm sick of seeing #5 in silver & black myself, Jayson Nix was supposed to lead off vs. tough lefties whenever Scott Podsednik got a breather from the lineup once they got Alex Rios via waivers. So far, Jayson led off only once since they got Rios and rested Podsednik and did a pretty good job to boot when the White Sox beat the A's in that Saturday afternoon nobody got a chance to watch due to the MLB/FOX Sports' policy. While I'm thinking about it, why did Ozzie take Chris Getz out of the leadoff spot early in the season? In my opinion, when Chris comes back from the DL this weekend in the Bronx, why not have Getz lead off? If I'm not mistaken, Getz's BA actually hit .300 when Ozzie inserted #17 at the top of the lineup and is also a better base runner than Podsednik.

GD, I respectfully disagree with you in that he needs to change some more pieces before I can deem them better. Dye - old, slow, lack of covering ground in RF; Linebrink - bad; Dotel - iffy at best; Jenks - ?; Podsednik - baseball stupid, can't play OF effectively; Tony Pena - bad; Contreras - wild and bad; Garcia - sweaty and iffy; Buerhle - ?

I think K-dub needs to do some more work on making this team a contender not in their own division, but against the AL East & the AL West.

Dye, Dotel, Pods, Contrearas and Garcia all end contracts this year.

Jenks and Buehrle are both all star quality players that you build a team around.

Pena is a project for Cooper.

Anyway next year you ALREADY know this about your lineup

1. Buhrle
2. Floyd
3. Danks
4. Peavy
5. Hudson/low priced veteran

That is an upgrade over the start of this year.

C- Pierzinski
1B- Konerko
2B- Getz
SS- Alexei
3B- Beckham
LF- Quentin
CF- Rios
RF- ?
DH- ?

There will be significant upgrades in center and third over the start of last year. We will have to see about LF and DH.

My orgasmic off season scenario is trading Pierzinski and Getz to TB for Crawford, signing Figgens to play 3B and moving Beckham to 2B with Dye at DH at a low cost. The result is an incredible and diverse lineup for the same salary structure as this year....but the bullpen might suck.

I thought Gordon Beckham would be better suited for second base over the long term, considering the fact he played there in Spring Training and that some thought he should've made the Opening Day roster. Beckham seems to be getting more comfortable everyday he plays third, and the impression I'm getting is that #15 will be there for quite sometime. As for Chris Getz, you folks know where I stand. Come 2010, #17 will be the full time second baseman, and Ozzie will put this platoon with him & Jayson Nix to an abrupt end. The White Sox really like his lunchbucket approach, and Getz has been getting hitting help from former hitting coach Walt Hriniak while the team is in Boston this week, says the Tribune's Mark Gonzales. Besides, Getz has proven he can hit lefties as well as righties, and before this series even began at Fenway, Ozzie sounded like a guy who can't wait to get Chris back in the lineup from his lower oblique injury sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, while there are supposed signs that the American economy is about ready to get out of this recession, Uncle Jerry's worried sick about sponsorships for 2010, especially after the likes of Pontiac & Bank of America withdrew their sponsorships this season.

According to Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago, Jake Peavy is doubtful to make his White Sox debut on Saturday. The newly acquired right-hander was unable to throw a scheduled side session Wednesday afternoon due to lingering elbow soreness

Anytime Rios wants to get a clutch hit and start to drive in some runs is fine by me.

Some lineup shakeup!!! When Tim Wakefield was in there, Keyser, Jayson Nix got nothing and liked it! He went 0-for-3 as the leadoff hitter, and whose batting average has got to be around .220 overall after looking miserable vs. the knuckleball Wakefield hurls. Chris Getz likely wouldn't have fared much better vs. Wakefield if he were healthy... In fact, I predict Getz will be back Saturday or Sunday in the Bronx, and it would behoove Ozzie to take Nix and that dropping BA out of the lineup!
