The catch by Anderson was better then Rowand's this year. He didn't break his face because it was padded. He also had a better jump then Rowand and took a better route. All of you guys who think Dye won't make the all star game are stupid. He's having an MVP type year to date. Keep in mind he missed over a week with an injury. Nice way to start this series off.

If Dye doesn't get voted in (and he won't), Ozzie has already told him that he's picking him for the All Star Game this year.

He better get in, he is 2nd on the team in average behind AJ, 2nd on team behind Thome in HR's, 2nd or 3rd in RBI's and 1st on OBP. I never thought I would see the re-emergence of the Kansas City Dye.

It's a good thing Maglio got hurt or else we would have signed him. Don't get me wrong Mags is good and he's proving it again. But we got dye for 4 million and Mags is making 12. At best they are equal. The money we saved on Dye has gone else where. It helped us resign Konerko and some of our pitchers. It really was blind luck however. Thank God for that knee injury.

Gentlemen, gentlemen.... let's not get carried away here. MVP for Jermaine Dye? Perhaps MVP for the club, and I certainly hope that is what you were referring to BD. I'll admit that the man is having a fantastic season FOR HIM, but in no way do I believe he is AL MVP material.

Take a look at the numbers again in relation to the rest of the league. However, he is a very hot and cold player, so I don't think they will stand the rest of the year. His top career HR number is 33 and he already has 19 with 2/3 of the season to go.

By the way, I will admit I was wrong about the ASG. He should be there.

For some reason he's flown a little under the radar for me. As dumb as that sounds, when he came up in the 8th and they flashed his stats, I said holy shit. I guess I've focused on Thome and Konerko and forgot about JD.

That catch by Anderson is why you can't send him down. Sure having a guy with only a 15% chance of getting a hit in your lineup sucks, but the runs he's not producing are cancelled out by the one's he's saving. Plus seeing anyone else on the team standing in center makes my head hurt. If he never hits, then get some help, but he's the best option at this point.

That's exactly why he won't get voted in. You're a Sox fan but have hardly noticed his numbers. So you can bet that no one outside of Chicago is even paying attention to him. But besides that, the all star voting is more of a popularity contest. The average person voting is voting for names they recognize, not on performance.

My point exactly. While I do think that if JD was on another team he would recieve not only more attention but more All-Star votes, and in turn be a better choice for MVP material. Yes, he is excelling at this point in comparison to others in the league, but the only problem is that he has a guy in Jim Thome ahead of him and another named Paul Konerko that will undoubtedly have better numbers by year's end.

Not a bad problem for the White Sox to have, however. :D
