Cancel the next decade, the Sox' three top prospects have gotten off to slow starts after 2-3 weeks.

Its a good thing that only Sox fans troll the Cubs section during baseball season.

Sox already have a guy doing that at the big league level.

I thought I heard something this morning that the White Sox are one of 5 teams in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball minus a ML-ready player right now of all the players in a Baseball America survey. They picked 25 top prospects to make a team and the Sox don't have 1 such player ready in their farm system.

Their major league ready players are actually on the major league team.

The list was made by Jim Callis so it's no surprise that a White Sox player was left off the list.

Many of them aren't very good though.

A lot of the White Sox prospects were traded away. Case in point (Twice)...Gio Gonzalez, now with the Nationals.

To make matters worse, a lot of the other Sox prospects over the years simply weren't good enough once they made it to the majors. Remember these names? Kip Wells? Danny Wright? Scott Ruffcorn? Royce Ring? Joe Borchard? Needless to say, they didn't last long.

Chris Sale
Addison Reed
Nate Jones
Jose Quintana
Dylan Axlerod
Conor Gillaspie

That's a pretty good list.

Conor Gillaspie was acquired in a trade with the Giants at the start of Spring Training this year. Jose Quintana was I believe a Yankees' prospect. I think we forgot a certain Jason Hervey-looking 2B who's currently on the DL with a hamate bone in his wrist. You may have heard of him, too. Gordon Beckham.

They don't have to be your own drafted prospects to count as good SHARKeroo.

This is the worst state I have ever seen the Sox minor league system, especially on the hitting side.

Bright spot is AAA catcher Josh Phegley at .306 and 7 homers. 25 years old, mediocre behind the plate. Nothing else is even interesting through A ball.

I thought Phegley was excellent behind the plate but not considered good enought with the bat for MLB.

You have to be pretty bad at hitting to be considered not good enough to push Flowers.

Yeah, if you can't push a guy batting .185 and striking out 32% of the time....not good. In all fairness though, he has done a good job handling the pitcher. But on a team that is struggling for any offense, starting an offensively challenged Catcher may be a luxury they can't afford.

Everything is fine in the minors for the Sox.

The company line used to be 'kenny traded all the talent'
Now it is 'all the talent is in the majors'

Remember, Kenny is now back to Scouting, so he is going to save the system.

He is going to scout the next Brian Anderson.

Brian Anderson, not just any prospect that flopped. a prospect that kenny himself scouted for almost 6 years! In High School and college, all in Tucson! Home of the Sox Spring Training and other things.

I remember kenny bragging about how good this kid will be...'Future All Star" "5 Tool player" this was Kennys best prospect!

Then lets not forget the Minor league scandal in the Sox system from the Dave Wilde System. Kennys 'best friend"

Ironically the kids of which Sox Nation now proclaims as evidence the system is fine (Sale and Jones) were drafted once kenny gave up control of the minor leagues.

You are not even telling the entire story. The Sox had several hot CF prospects ahead of Anderson in the minors. KW traded all of them away to clear Anderson's ascension. In fairness, I think the only one who is still in baseball is Sweeney and he is on the fringe.
