The Bulls are fine.

They got screwed by Derrick Rose going from future hall of famer to guy on the Knicks. It's almost impossible to come back from that without a rebuild.

Marshmelo
Bosh

Against my better judgment I actually did. The only person that the Bulls "failed" to get was McGrady.

I don't consider any of the others a failure on the part of the Bulls. The biggest mistake they made with Gasol was in not drafting him.

The system is rigged, but even when guys do choose to leave it's never to the Bulls. One can recognize the structural advantages home teams have while also seeing that the Bulls front office nevertheless sucks at its job.

The latter is most vividly highlighted by the "aim for 2017" plan that GarPax currently seem to be aiming towards, at least on days that they're not trying to sign washed up vets. If you know you're unlikely to land a big name in free agency, then why are you clearing cap space to try to land 2 big name guys in free agency? The 2017 plan will work about as well as the 2014 and 2010 ones did.

I do recall Glen Rice agreeing to terms and then backing out which led to Ron Mercer signing on the dotted line I believe.

However, that was still the Krause era.

Paxson has been too sentimental towards his core. And I believe that stems from the one time he "gambled" (Tyrus Thomas over Aldrige) and it blew up in his face. From that point on, he wasn't going down the risky path, personnel wise. And who knows, if Rose doesn't get hurt maybe he pulls it off.

I forgot about KG. The Gasol deal still bothers me. We didn't want to give up Deng and Tyrus Thomas for a future HoF.

I have no issue with that number. Not sure how a guy that dominates the ball will work with Butler and I'm not sure how he fits with Hoiberg.
