Rondo is a huge upgrade over Calderon, and Wade is a huge upgrade over Dunleavy. I was more concerned about Butler on the floor than anything else. He also threw teammates under the bus. I never can recall Rondo doing that.

No but only based on expectations and previous year performance. Do you look more fondly on the Bulls with Jalen Rise or the Bulls years with Ben Gordon? Or is neither fondly remembered because they didn't win?

I look fondly back on teams that were legitimate contenders. There were Bulls teams that were even if they ended up not winning the title.

If the Bulls make it to the 2nd round it would be considered a successful season.

Philly may never be a contender. Toronto took Cleveland to 6 games in the conf. Finals. I'd rather be Toronto.

The Bulls tanked in 98 and it took 13 years before they were serious contenders. Minnesota has been garbage for about 11 yrs now. Think about all of the high draft picks that they have had. You are hoping for #6 in the lottery draft picks and thinking that is the answer?

This is a terrible example. The Bulls aren't even close to Toronto who are easily the 2nd best team in the East. Toronto is probably a Lebron injury away from an NBA finals appearance. The Bulls wouldn't even take Cleveland to 5 games.

haven't seen that one in a while.

When the other option is hoping for a second round exit then yes I would rather start over and build up rather than signing guys over 30 after getting rid of guys for being too injured and old.

To be honest Butler wasn't the biggest problem on the Bulls last season. I think it is equally wrong to place all or most the blame on Hoiberg, or Rose for that matter. The Bulls biggest problem last season stemmed from the injuries they incurred. I do think that Butler is overvalued on here though. He is a third option on a championship caliber team. The good thing is that the new market will pay him as a third option kind of player.

The Bulls improved their team with these moves. They got younger too.

There is no greater basketball hell than being a perennial loser. Ask the Clipper fans. Sixer fans. TWOLVES. Sacramento. Draft is not a guarantee and if they keep Butler then you try and be competitive.

For as much as you bash Melo, check the Knicks pre Melo. About 11-12 years of being a laughingstock. He led them to their best season since 99. They'd much rather clamor for a season like that, rather than clamor for an opportunity to draft Channing Frye.

Both Rondo and Wade are old by NBA standards and most likely will be gone by the time the Bulls are a championship contender.

But they aren't competitive. Your best case scenario is a first round victory. If that gets you excited then I guess we are different.

They will be a top 5 team in the East this year. They are a laughingstock, yet Etwaun Moore is a serviceable basketball player.

I agree that they will likely not be a good shooting team, but worse? Rose and Noah were both terrible shooters last season. At least D Wade knows his limitations...he won't be chucking up 3's at inopportune moments like Rose did. I also think Butler will be helped by moving to forward.

That said, I don't have high hopes...but at least they should be interesting.
