He nailed the big three in Miami. And it's a logical move. You hearing anything about Okafor? Like to see the Bulls revisit that.

If you can get two top five picks for Butler, and maybe another asset you have a good start to a rebuild. Bulls should have a top pick next year as well then.

Is it even possible to have Heyward, Butler and Thomas salary wise?

What has he been right about, aside from big 3 in Miami

I haven't looked but I believe they would have to send a contract back to the Bulls to pull it off.

I think keeping him is foolish. Hopefully they get a good return for him.

If Paxson secures a top 3 and Top5 pick for Butler he is easily the frontrunner for exec of the year.

@WojVerticalNBA: Sources: Chicago’s price for Jimmy Butler remains elevated, but Minnesota has assets and interest. Sides made preliminary contact this week.

KC Johnson retweeted Woj and added that the Suns are another team to watch, per his source.

Towns and the 7th pick seems fair

@ESPNSteinLine: The Cavaliers, per league sources, have been working today on assembling multi-team trade scenarios to try to acquire Chicago's Jimmy Butler.

KC retweeted Stein and added Suns may be 3rd team.

I'd take Kyrie Irving straight up for Jimmy Butler right now.

That'd be an interesting trade but I highly doubt Kyrie is involved. I have little hope for the inevitable Butler trade bringing a good return.

Me either. The Bulls will get a deal similar to what Sacramento got for Cousins if he is traded.

They will dangle Butler, then end all trade discussions, sign him to a five year extension for 200M, then sign Vince Carter and Joakim Noah to increase their chances for a second round playoff appearance.

Kevin Love is the "big" piece the Bulls or Suns get. I'm sure Iman Shumpert's broken down game, and plastic wife are off the Cavs next year as well.

I can see it now.

PG- Kyrie Irving
SG- Jimmy Butler
SF- Lebron James
PF- Whogivesashit Passtheball
C- Tristan Thompson

6th man- Dwyane Wade

I hope he doesn't go to the Cavs. I'm not a fan of trading your best player to a team in your division, so they can beat the Warriors.

Sounds like Lebron wasn't made aware of the firing.

James's influence within the organization may be waning. Gilbert pushed back on his demands in January and now this.

Reasons why LeBron wasn't consulted

1. He was outplayed by Durant during the Finals

2. His team won 52 games despite possessing a payroll that was 25-30 mil more than the next closest team.

3. He gave him the coach he wanted last season.

4. LeBron leveraged for the resigning of Thompson, Smith, and trade for Love and he sees where that got them.

The other reason is that there is a lot of truth to the fact that Lebron plans on leaving after next season.

Or LeBron wanted the guy gone for some reason, but did not want to be blamed. So he was pushed out. I don't really believe that the Cavs keep LeBron in the dark about much of anything. He is the franchise.
