OK....you're the GM. Knowing what you know about both of them which would you sign for this current Bulls squad? Let's say they are both 27 years old.

Is this seriously a choice?

Rodman all day.

The better question is who would you rather have, Horace Grant from the 1st three peat or Dennis Rodman from the 2nd three peat? Now that is a legitimate question considering Horace was entering the prime of his career at the ages of 25-27 years old and during the 2nd three peat Rodman was at an advanced stage of his career at the ages of 34-36 years old.

No offense to Horace, but Rodman was a monster...a savant-like rebounding machine.

Still Rodman.

That's right. Horace did not get the attention he deserved due to Pip/MJ. How could he? I recall him being a player that ANY team would want. He was better when he went Orlando, and Rodman was worse in Chicago.

Grant was an anchor while Dennis was a flapping sail, sometimes very useful and other times worthless. Ho Grant was never worthless.

Rodman but Grant was somewhat underrated. Solid all around game.

Oh god yes. Horace would go out and get his 16 and 10 every night while Rodman would get 15 boards and take NO SHOTS! By the time he got to the bulls when he had to go to the line he would just fire the ball at the hoop with a look of disdain as if to say "I hate this shit and don't care if I miss"...even if the game was on the line.

What do you think was going through his mate's minds there? If I'm the GM you couldn't GIVE me Rodman.

Well somehow or other Jackson and MJeff kept him under control. So yeah, Rodman with Hoiberg probably wouldn't work so good.

Rodman could guard just about anyone. He was incredibly quick and could run like a deer. Grant no so much.

In 2018, social media makes Rodman even more bonkers and the League suspends him too much for it to be worth signing him over Ho.

Ummmm don't you remember rodman shooting token 3pt shots during years 2-3 of the 2nd 3peat?

IIRC Horace was money from about ~12ft or inwards, an oft forgotten aspect of his game. Really Horace didn't have too much flash to his game (Joan Esposito notwithstanding) and he was kind of the third guy in a "big 3" -- rodman didn't have to worry about that cuz Toni Kukoc was there for thst role during the 2nd 3peat.

While it is probably Rodman, I always had a soft spot for HG:

Back in the summer of 1994, I was 15 and on a date with a girl where we went to Deerbrook mall for a matinee movie and then walked over to Chili's to eat something and because this was Deerbrook mall in 1994 and our choices were Chili's or Applebee's and we were 15 and couldn't drive. Also because this was Deerfield in 1994 there were no bars (In fact, Chilis and Applebee's were not allowed to be called 'bar and grill' but instead were just called 'neighborhood grill' because Deerfield was/is rather puritan) and so who is at the bar at Chili's? Horace Grant. This was right around the time he was about to leave for Orlando as Krause wasn't going to pay him and he was having a grand time with some friends at the bar. Seeing as it was 3:30 in the afternoon on a weekday in Deerfield, we were the only people in the restaurant. When our waitress came over, I told her that I wanted to buy a drink for Horace Grant at the bar. We were seated in the aisle toward the bathroom, when he was going to the bathroom he asked if I bought him a drink and my response (and probably the quickest witted moment of my life up to that point) was "Yes, I wanted to give you something more than Krause was offering." He laughed. When it was time for our bill, we were told it was taken care of. When we were leaving I thanked him and he said to me "No problem, now you better go get some."
Horace Grant. Helping 15 year olds hook up since at least 1994.

Dennis no question. Most entertaining Bulls player of my lifetime -Jordan.

I am still pissed Horace took his punk ass to Orlando.

They don't beat the Jazz with Horace. The mailman would have destroyed him.

The question was for the current Bulls squad:

Horace and it is not even a question. Rodman would shut down physically and emotionally on a young, rebuilding team.

Fuck Horace's country dumb ass for going to Orlando but he would be the better player on this team

If Horace was on this team, they would not be winning a championship. I agree though that Rodman would bitch slap Hoiberg, but get the right coach in here and he would love being "the man" in Chicago. If the young guys played hard and wanted to win, Dennis would #try hard. He wouldn't have mixed well with primadonna Butler and Wade last year. This year I think he would have taken on a leadership role with a more respectable coach.

No way. Dennis would be a perfect complement to Markkanen. With Dunn and Rodman you have the foundation for a Spurs/Celtics level of defense. They would no longer be rebuilding.

I appreciated bot of these guys contributions. My recollection is always having a bad feeling in my stomach until Rodman showed up and actually played though. It always would worry me when he would just blow it.
