Lavine- holy moly. Ive never seen him like this. He's fire.

White- so much better. There's a chance he makes the all star team.

Paw- much more aggressive and confident. Will he breakout this year?

Julian phillips- wow. For a 19yo, wow.

Those 4 guys are your studs, at different levels in their career obviously but those are the guys you work with the most. Vuch will be vuch, derozen is what he is, donsumu might be better but nothing too apparent, Caruso we know what he does... overall, we have enough talent to play musical chairs all season. But can the coach do his job?

Another hot start in a preseason game. This team is acting like they're a little pissed off what happened the last two years.

Seeing a lot of fight across the league already and the season hasn't even started. We had the best playoffs ever last year and I think it's bleeding over. This could be a REALLY fun season.

Stole one in OT after blowing a big early lead. Toronto couldn't put them away and Bulls win at home.

The stats don't tell the whole story of just how he impacted the game.

Lavine has been awful in first 2 games.

They are 1-1. A good picture of what they are, a .500 team.

Not sure what else they expected when you bring back this same group where 2 of your best guys are a yr older. What could go wrong?

Williams appears to be a bust.

Losing to OKC isn't a slight on the Bulls. Losing by 20 to OKC is a slight however. They are a good young, solid team that has better coaching than the Bull.
Bulls should win between 42-45 games this year. Not bad but not championship level. The only way that they get to 50 is if My Guy "the Paw" takes the step. With this coach however you can forget that. H
The biggest problem with the squad is Billy D. That's the BIGGEST reason that they had a players only meeting after the first game of the season.

Lavine with 51 and bulls lose by 16.

P will a no show

Maybe it is Billy Ds fault but i think he is done here in chicago. He will probably grow into an all star in another town

Yeah the Paw blows. I guess it is possible he develops somewhere else like others players who left here have. But I don't think any coach is turning him into Kawhi.

Donovan may not be the answer, but Lavine is a huge problem. He got deservedly roasted for two pathetic games to start the season, and then basically said look at me as he scored 51 — and they still got destroyed with two starters getting zero points.

Billy Donovan is and will continue to be THEE biggest problem associated with the franchise. His inability to hold his "coveted' veterans accountable is a huge problem. Derozan and Lavine can call their own number anytime they feel like it. And neither gives a damn about playing any defense. Neither does Coby White. The guards on the opposing teams have been baptizing the Bulls thus far this season. Expect that trend to continue as with exception of the Paw, all of the team's best defenders are on the bench.

This is also a poorly constructed roster. Not enough size and too MANY guards. You aren't going to win in the NBA running college sized lineups out there. At least 2 of the guards on the team should be traded in order to get more size on the team.
This is also a dreadfully unathletic team that gets exposed everytime they have to face younger, more explosive teams.

I think you have always said it best when you talk about Lavine and Derozan playing, "hero ball", watched a few minutes of last nights game and Lavine was going off, but you could see wide open guys slump their shoulders and jog back on D after he looked right at them and chose to hoist up a shot or dribble around rather than pass them the ball. You see Derozan do the same thing, but Derozan flops around after his misses bitching to the ref while his man is running down the court uncovered leaving his teams D to play 4 on 5.

The other teams know this and exploit the Bulls lack of cohesion defensively with reckless abandon, hammering them on the boards.

The lowly Pistons outrebounded the Bulls 53-32, and more importantly had 29 assists to the Bulls 16, including a startling 1 assist from the starting guards to the Pistons 14 and 7 rebounds for the Bulls staring C to 21 for the Pistons starters.

Hero ball is not team ball, and while you may get 5 wins a year where your heroes come through, you lost 20 plus when they fail, this is the story of the Bulls for the past several years and it will not get any better without significant roster reconstruction.

Starting with the coach that continuously allows them to play like this. Imo Udoka as a rookie coach checked Brown and Tatum for playing this way. Both are better players than Lavine and Derozan.
Why can't Billy D do the same when it comes to Derozan and Lavine?

time to get another coach in and give him 1-2 years to do the same exact thing with a middling roster . We can get a 7 seed 2 years from now maybe !

Lavine should have never been resigned. He's not a winning player or a box office attraction.

He's #2 in red faced black guys, right behind Booker.
