Do the Bulls have enough to offer Miami for the 2nd pick? I've heard Riley doesn't like Beasley. Maybe sending Hinrich/Gordon and Noah/Thomas plus taking back a bad contract (Mark Blount) could work. They could even throw in a couple future 1st round picks with no conditions.

I like this idea, but have no idea if/how it could happen.

Riley loves making trades and dumping salary. Making a deal like this will would end the rebuilding process and put them well under the cap next summer. Not sure if Paxson has the balls to pull it off because it would signal the Bulls are starting over in a way. They have enough talent and salaries to do it though.

Has there been talk of this possibility?

I would trade some of our young guys for Miami's #2 pick in a heartbeat, the combo of Rose and Beasley would be amazing, but do you really think Pax has the balls to pull off such a move?

where is Spinnin Bucket?

This is going to sound crazy, but I think DeAndre Jordan is a better fit for the Bulls then Beasley. Not with the top pick, but if we were able to get an additional pick, lower in the lottery. Jordan is the back to the basket, inside presence that would complement Rose.

Till like March it seemed like it was just me and Bagels.

I think the Chris Paul thing brought some additional traffic too.

I really wasn't feeling the NBA talk too mcuh. It might have had something to do with the Bulls sucking. My juices started flowing when playoff basketball started and they will likely continue to flow until the start of the season.

I know what you mean, I pretty much ditched the Bulls and hitched my wagon to Paul and the Hornets by early January. Plus it helped that there were like 4-5 very exciting, high quality Western conference basketball games on every week from the All star break till the end of the season. This was probably the most disappointing Bulls team I've ever seen.

nobody likes DeAndre Jordan? I'm talking about as a project, trade back in the lottery to draft him (around #8-12)

I think Rose could make him look real good.

GM's love this guy, according to Chad Ford. I wouldnt go out of my way to pick him up. He's very raw, but has the most potential probably out of any of the non-top 5 guys. I think Brooks Lopez is the biggest candidate to be a bust.

Right now I'd focus on taking the top pick and making a couple roster adjustments based on that pick. Theres still at least one major trade needed in the offseason.

right, I'm not saying he's going to light the NBA on fire. But for the next decade, big men like Howard, Oden, Bynum, and Yao are going to have their way with us, unless we have some sort of inside post presence.

Jordan might be able to fill that need.

Yeah he might, but he might not. I dont think itd be a terrible idea, but Pax is not gonna trade players to get another lottery pick. Not the 2nd pick, and not any other pick. It would signify starting over, and theres a reason he's been so reluctant to trade any of his draft picks. He falls in love with them. I think he knows if he takes Rose he has to move Hinrich or Gordon though, especially with Thablo playing so well when given 25+ minutes.

Also Noah is a big body that improved over the course of the season. I think by the end of his third year he could be a 10-10 guy with a couple blocks and a steal a game. He'll be a good post defender.

Recent stories list some interesting names as possible trade targets...

Elton Brand is considering opting out of his contract and could become an unrestricted free agent. If it looks like he wants out, could he be part of a sign & trade? (approx. $16 Million).

Jermaine O'Neal is definitely available - but at a steep price (in the range of $20 million). The only way this makes sense is if the Bulls can get rid of Hughes contract.

TJ Ford is also rumored to be on the market. This would make sense if the Bulls prefer Beasley over Rose. This would also allow them to trade Hinrich or at least move him to shooting guard.

Thoughts?

I like Jermaine O'Neal a lot. Watched him up close when they worked out at the Hoops before playing the Bulls. For a guy that big, he is remarkably quick and fluid, very guard-like. 20 mil is a little too much though.

Jermaine O'Neal has a god-awful contract, plus he's always hurt. I would pass.

Same here.

As for TJ Ford, you cant trade your only other possible PG if you do aquire him, given his neck/spine condition.

I don't think Ford played more than 50-some games in any of the seasons.

I can see a S&T with Gordon to Portland. They supposedly want him in the backcourt with Roy.

That wouldn't happen until after July 15.

I would love to see Elton Brand here with Rose running the point. But I just don't see it happening.

O'Neil would be great except he cannot stay healthy and does have an awful contract. No thanks.

Ford would be a good addition if they go with Beasley, but I am hoping we will not be needing a PG for 10+ years.

Who would we be getting in return?

hard to say, Webster would look really nice in a Bulls uniform. Plus, probably an expiring contract like LaFrentz

I like Webster too. Im also a fan of Travis Outlaw. The Blazers have alot of young, good players that almost all double as good character guys. Im surprised they want Gordon though, dont they basically have that type of guy in Jack? Gordon is a better shooter, Jack is a better ball handler and defender, but they are similar, instant offense off the bench guys.

I guess they picture him as the perfect outside complement to Oden's post presence. If teams double Oden, think of the options he will have between Gordon and Roy. Plus, Gordon can guard PGs without having to worry about setting up plays, since Roy handles the ball
