Yeah. Curry was thought to sign, but didnt till today. Im hoping that since Negro hasnt signed yet it could end up like the Collins situation and fall through, though I doubt it. I guess the silver lining is they didnt hire Casey or Avery.

I'd take Avery over del Negro...

I think I'd rather go back to the Bill Cartwright era.

This is false advertising. I just found out del Negro isn't even a negro. What a bunch of bullshit. Shameless, trying to take advantage of affirmative action like that. :x

I felt the same type of letdown during Reggie White's introductory press conference with the Packers.

Well to be fair they hired Terry Porter. Im not overly impressed with their coaching search either.

Im surprised noone waited for Thibodeau. He's been a hot name since the All Star break.

Completely agree. How the hell do they not wait another week after waiting months to get this figured out by interviewing probably the most qualified candidate left?

I dont understand it. By all accounts Curry is a great fit in Detroit, but Porter didnt do anything impressive with Milwaukee and Del Negro is a complete unknown with no bench experience. Thibodeau I think deserves a shot, this guy brings a top tier defense with him wherever he goes. If you have a great defense in the NBA you are going to be competitive any given night. Like I said before, the hiring could have been worse, we could be talking about Dwayne Casey or Avery Johnson right now. I would basically label it as confusing. I just dont get it. The best we can hope for is that it works out. At least we dont know if he will be good or bad. I'd rather have him than Porter. Detroit maybe knew something a month back when they refused permission to the Bulls to talk to Curry.

I'll guess Thibodeau saw the clusterfuck that was the Bulls coaching search and told them not to bother calling him. Plus having a Thabo and a Thibodeau would be too confusing.

No, the Celtics havent allowed anyone to talk to TT during the playoffs. Also, despite the angst we feel as fans right now towards the team, this is a pretty attractive job, especially for someone looking for his first HC gig.

Did anyone call the chairman to find out what Vinny's defensive philosophy is?

Do we know what his offensive style of ball is going to be? Apparently, he wasn't on the same page with D'Antoni when it came to developing young players, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he wasn't linked to him or a believer in his style of play.

This does seem extremely rushed. Even Doug Collins said on Friday that he told Paxson to take a deep breath, and take his time before making any decisions. If this is true, Reinsdorf must have told Paxson to make a decision quickly to avoid the negative press, but Paxson either was big on Del Negro or rushed his decision.

I wonder if Paxson is aware of the fact that Paul Westhead is still out there somewhere

As Mr. Pickles would say, "embarrassing"

I wonder how the interview went.

Vinny - I really would like the chance to coach the bulls.

Jerry R. - Welll Vinny, we have a great tradition here, we have high expectations, we expect to win, we have to make sure you are the right guy.

Vinny - I will sign whatever contract you give me.

Jerry R. - YOUR HIRED!!!!

In his introduction Pax referred to Vinny as "someone who would resonate with fans." I think Pax thinks the only fans of this team are the mobster wannabe Gibson dinner burping sweater section.

In his interview with North this morning, Pax couldn't define Vinny's coaching philosophy any more clearly than Del Negro was able to do yesterday: "He likes a fast pace and has some defensive ideas", Paxson said.

The more I hear Pax and Del Negro talk, the more skeptical I am becoming about this hire. It has really become clear that Paxson is out of his depth as an NBA GM.

Every time I heard Vinny say "Worldwin" on Mike and Mike this morning, I wanted a Bulls PR guy to strangle Vinnie.
