Gordon didn't sign the tender by the league deadline last night?

If the offer on the table truly was 6/58, I think Gordon is going to regret passing on that. I'm not up to speed w/ what teams will have cap space available but I'd have to think those that do are going to be holding out for 2010 to try and make a run at that class. I can't see a team paying 10+/yr for him.

the Bulls are actually playing this one right...Gordon needs them much more than the Bulls need him...

Exactly. Same thing with Josh Childress. It hurt to lose him, but the other choice is to overpay him. I'm more than fine with overpaying for a difference maker, but not a 6th man. Both Childress and Gordon are nice complementary/niche players, but not worth breaking the bank on.

I'm not sure what would have happened, but Ben Gordon did agree to the Bulls' one-year, $6.4 million tender late last night. While it means the Bulls can't trade #7 without his permission, it does mean he'll be an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Ben would have had to sit out of the NBA for a year if he didn't sign. Even him and his agent are not that dumb. Can be alot of pictures of himself and cases of his failed energy drink for $6.4M.

Worst thing is that we can't trade him this year.

I think Ben's value would've decreased even further had he not signed with the Bulls, signed & traded or went to play basketball overseas like some NBA players have decided. That would have been even worse if BG refused to sign on the dotted line...

To top it off, Gordon would have had the same tender offer on the table for next year and the Bulls would still own his rights.

I think had Ben not signed the tender offer, he'd lose a year of service and/or free agency. :? That would've been even dumber...
