Ben couldn't carry Scottie's jock. Probably wants to, but he can't.

Gordon does not even belong in the same sentence with Pippen.

Your right Ben never quit on his team in a playoff game, beat his girlfriend, and devolop the rep of a notorious non tipper.

Anyways all around Ben Gordon is better than Scotty, better defender at least.

Look the fact is that Ben Gordon can defend any player 1 thru 5 whereas Scottie often got burned by the likes of Pooh Richardson and Popeye Jones.

Also Gordon is awesome with his left...something Scottie could never do.

And maybe Ben shoulda been around to show 1.8 how to use the backboard.

The classic Ben Gordon bank shot YES!!!

Since Ben is from England, im sure he has carried a few jocks in his lifetime. And to the fans comparing Scottie to Ben, you have got to be kidding me. Im getting a migraine just listening to these idiots talk. Ben Gordon is a less black version of Craig Hodges. Craig took his blackness very seriously. He taught me to tip like a real brutha.

1.9 came from College Basketball powerhouse Central Arkansas while Gordon had to get noticed at a throw away program like UCONN

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic at this stage...Ben Gordon can't guard a tree stump. Practically invented the famous "Waiter" defense all by himself (This way to the hoop, sir!)

I think Scottie could take BG in 1 on 1 today. Was this thread a joke?

Thats absurd. If you hated Scottie as a basketball player, Im not sure how you can claim to like the sport of basketball. He was the most underappreciated athlete of the past 20-30 years in any sport IMO.

Here's a fantastic article on how to view him as a player and view that scenario of quitting on his team. I agree completely with the opening lines.

Where you stand on Scottie Pippen depends on two questions:
1. Do you follow the NBA? I mean, do you really follow it?
2. Do you give up on anyone who has made even one stupid mistake in his life?

I remember that....he suffers from the same thing Greg Oden suffers from which is that extra meat on the top of his head....

I agree Dominque did not get his just due.

But to say he (or Hill) destroyed Pippen everytime they played is a big stretch. How do you even go about supporting such a claim?

I watched the games. Scottie couldn't guard either one of them. I guess I could use box scores for some of the games but I didn't think that would be needed. Not sure of your age but if you watched the Bulls regularly in the late 80's and 90's you probably saw the same thing.

Do you remember Bobby Phills used to give MJ a tough time? Do you remember the game when LaBradford Smith scored 38 on MJ and MJ put up nearly that total in the first half?

I am 33, and watched the Bulls a lot during that time period. I am not sure what Bobby Phills and Smith have to do with anything. Surely you are not saying those 2 destroyed MJ too?

I recall Wilkins having some very good games against a lot of people, but I do not recall anyone "destroying" Pippen every time. While I am sure you can find some stats that show they had some good games against Pippen, I would venture to say there are stats from games that show Pippen got the upperhand in games too.

Wilkins is in the argument, but I dont consider him a better player than Scottie, and I think its absurd that Scottie is looked at as this second tier player when he's one of the 20 best to ever play the game. He completely took out Magic in their first finals. I think he was the best defensive player in the league most of his career. There really wasnt anything on the basketball court he couldnt do. He defined the point forward position.

I thought the title of the thread and ridiculous backward claims I made (defending 1-5, off the glass, the left hand)

I was bored yes and im glad it sparked a nice Wilkins Pipp arguement.

The truth is I loved 33. Pippen was the first Bulls player I followed all thru his career (i was 7 when he was drafted). As much as I loved 23 I had a connection with Pippen.

I thought he was underrated. Until about 1999 2000 When I started hearing arguments from people that he was the better all around player than jordan. Thats a joke.
And then I heard that Scottie himself had said it to people. (not sure it that was proved he said it)

Anyways Scottie with his migraine, his comparisons to Jordan, His no tipping, His 1.9, His terrible Corn Rows...Its an all you can eat buffet of polarizing topics on the guy and I love it

Anyways speaking of Wilk-Pipp...That would be a fun one on one (jordan v bird style) matchup in their primes.
