I think if you trade Ben Gordon, you do it as one move in a larger comprehensive plan. Such a move would only be beneficial if it was complementary to a host of other changes.

Sadly, there's appeal to trading Gordon on the simple basis that he's one of the Bulls' few pieces that has decent trade value; I could envision Gordon having a serious impact on an otherwise well-rounded team.

Since Gordon signed the one year qualifying offer, he has a no trade clause. Any trade has to be done with his acceptance. Paxson's priority should be to clear up the logjam in the backcourt by trading Hinrich and Hughes, and getting at least average big men. The bulls have the worst frontcourt in the league.
