Frye turned down his $2.1 million player option with the Suns for next season and is available on the free agent market.

6'11" center who was 6th in the league in 3 pointer percentage last season.

If we're only looking at stiffs who can shoot 3's, Id rather go with this guy. He's 90% from the foul line too.

Plus he can deliver a karate chop 2nd to none.

"Suns have reached an agreement with Channing Frye for the seven-foot marksman to return to the Suns under a 5-year, $30 million deal (5 years, $30 million is the new black of the NBA). "

I get it, but I don't get it why you want your very tall guys hanging out on the perimiter on offense. All things considered, I'd think I 'd prefer a traditional rebounding blocking guy instead of a guy running out to set a pick and then staying out to pop a 3. Seems a little like using a monkey wrench to hammer a nail -- sure you can do it, but why would you want to? The answer to that question I suppose is that the league has become so offensive focused and such a perimiter game that you don't need a big guy in the lane on D anymore because nobody is down there trying to bank in a 6 footer. It is just such a different game. I sound like one of those old guys that wants to run the pro set while everyone else is running spread. :-D

Frye jinxed: he clanked 0-3 on 3's in the 4th. Still ended with 4-8 on 3's and a +5 on the night:

Steve A. Smith quoting a text from Chris Rock saying CAVS need a more experienced coach--Rock compared the CAVS in this series to Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas.

if your 7 footer is out by the 3 point line waiting for a kick out from D-Rose on a drive, that likely means the other team has one of their tallest players outside the paint as well. Freeing up the paint for D-Rose to do his thing--or kick it out to a Frye/Korver for a 3. Noah, Deng, Rose all did most of their offensive work in and around the paint. Frye would've been another guy with Korver, back then, to spread the floor, give D-Rose some space to work.

Instead of getting Frye for $5 mil + a another decent mid-level type player, they signed Boozer for $15 mil a season. Carlos Boozer--another guy who plays within 12 feet of the basket.
