It could be as soon as next year  Rose, Noah.Gasol and possibly Gibson gone what the hell are you going to have? I have seen Mirotic and he isn't really good.50 some games in and McDermott hasn't wowed me ( I don't think he's scored over 17 in a game all year) Portis is raw the more playing time he gets he will see I know one thing for sure he never meet a shot he didn't like. This has a chance to spiral out of control real fast. Thanks GarPax :D

I'm lookin forward to Rose, Noah n Gasol being gone but we are stuck with Rose for one more year. Statistically speaking it is harder to miss the playoffs than make them..so It will be a while before the Bulls are 35 win team.Paxson is the guy who's gotta go.

I'd go (team agnostic):

1.DeAndre
2. Westbrook
3. Rose
4. Love
5. Chalmers
6. Brooke Lopez
7. Roy Hibbert
8. Serge Ibaka
9. Goran Dragic
10. Eric Gordon

How did Jordan win over Westbrook in your list, and what's Chalmers doing in the top 10?!?

if I'm drafting today, going forward, no question DeAndre Jordan is the #1 pick. Westbrook and Rose are both 1 more knee injury/surgery away from retirement.

At least Hoiball is a smashing success and Doug McDermont sucks less than he did last year.

There's a strong chance they won't make it this year.

Is this true? They definitely need Rose and others to step up.

Great thread, WW. Seriously. Under the stewardship of Fred Hoiberg, the next Steve Kerr according to some, the Bulls are now only a half game ahead of ninth place in the East. This must be the worst record they've had at the mid-season point in about five to six years. They're on track to miss the post-season. Massive disappointment.

Yep, and the two teams below them, the Pistons and Wizards, both got better this week.

It's frustrating. They're at around 27 years old on average, and that's skewed by a guy like Gasol who is near retirement. So the mediocrity is not attributable to the inexperience of being youthful, nor is this a case of being too old either. This is a playoff-tested, veteran team with key players either in the prime of their careers, or just at the end of their prime years. We're now becoming like the Knicks of the Thomas era where we've got massive disorder, our record sucks, guys speak out about how bad everything is, and the whole operation is just a joke. Never hire coaches who cannot command respect in the locker room.

I wouldn't go that far. The current Nets squad is like those Thomas Knicks teams. This Bulls squad is fixable in the next couple years. The Nets/Knicks teams weren't/aren't. At least the Bulls have some first rounders in the next three years. Brooklyn can't even tank until 2019

You believe Hoiberg is the guy to translate that potential into a contender? If not then we've only got a slightly less crappier product than a team like the Nets.

I'm not worried about Hoiberg hindering the future. They cut Vinny loose after two years in which he made the postseason both times. They'll move on from Hoiberg after next season or before then if he doesn't improve.

Very prophetic Walt. I guess there won't be anymore arguments about whose team it is. When you don't make the playoffs, it's no one's team.

Hoiberg and GarPax had better fix this thing next year or all should be fired.

I hope that he doesn't take a job next year either so Reinsdorf has to pay every single cent left on his contract while he merely "consults" other teams in the league. And while I doubt that any actual change to the front office takes place this off-season as a result of missing the playoffs (even though such change would be a certainty for teams without the dysunction of the Bulls), I'm still glad Jerry's not going to be getting any playoff revenue after his classless letter.
