They had their third and fourth string goalies playing. MAF and Lankinan are out due to Covid.

I like the new coach but cannot invest in this team right now. The Bulls are way too much fun….

There's absolutely no reason to invest in this team. To use a Bernstein expression- the Hawks are in NHL purgatory. They are not good enough to be a playoff team. They have enough talent to be better than the bottom 25% of the league so they'll win enough games to not truly tank. They have no prospects of consequence. They do not even have this year's 1st round pick since they way overpaid for Jones. Kane is clearly not 100%. Dach isn't showing much improvement and is trending to be a disappointment as a #3 pick from the draft. They should trade Flower at the deadline so they'll be even more goaltending like you saw in yesterday's debacle. Hell, even when they started playing better under King, it was boring, low-event hockey in which MAF was winning them games. So unless you love the nostalgia of seeing the Hawks or watching a 75% Kane or the shell of Jonathan Toews, there really is no reason to spend much time with this team. Sure, Debrincat is a nice player. Maybe even a top 25 player so there's that. But it'll be years before the Hawks can turn this around. When the Hawks become a playoff team again one day, the best players on that team are not even here yet.

Hockey is my second favorite sport, but like college football, the overtimes are a gimmicky joke. The only thing worse than 3 on 3 is having a shootout decide a game.

I will come back to the Hawks, but not this current team.

I'll keep watching, just to see how the young guys progress.

I like the voice of the guy doing PBP tonight. Will see if he’s any good but so far, so good.

Back to back wins for the first time in 2 months. 3 game winning streak on the horizon with the Habs on Thursday?

And looks like Reichel was added to the taxi squad. Like to see what he can do with the big club.

I don't like the French version of the Canadian national anthem.

I don’t like fighting after a clean hit is delivered.

No one else got their tits drilled after that so I will accept it as i am tired of seeing the hawks get beat on. It did cost them a goal and a player but he kinda isn't very good and they ended up winning. That game should never have been that close. Kaner and the Cat both hit iron on goals that should have been no doubters. For every good play DeHaan makes he follows up by not paying attention to a rebound or getting his feet tangled up in cement around the net.

That is the Canadian national anthem. An English version came later. The English one is just like "Canada is nice, we like it." The original French lyrics are like "we will defend the glory of our home with the sword and cross" or something.

There aren't many hits like Romanov laid on Lafferty in today's game anyway so I still think it's stupid to fight after a clean hit. After a questionable/dirty hit? Absolutely drop 'em.

But you're right. lost Carpenter for 17 minutes so I guess that is a plus...

Captain Serious looks like he has rounded himself into playing shape.
Looks a lot more like the pre-pandemic player that had made somewhat of a comeback.
Anyone heard that Kaner is slated for hip surgery at the end of the season???

Haven't heard that but it sure looks like something was bothering him, up to the past few games. Didn't seem to be the same guy. Less jump, poor shooting %

Agree about Toews.

2010-2015 or Toews or 2016-2020 Toews?
Those are very different players.

2019-20.
I personally feel those two years he was a cut above 16,17 & 18.
Unfortunately he'll never be 2010-15 again.

Good to see Strome get rewarded. He's played better lately, especially at the dot.

ugh that's not good.

Patrick Sharp looks awful. Too much partying or something bags under eyes...he could be me.

pat foley with the passive-aggressive statement: "let's see if kirby dach can improve upon his 34% face-off win percentage....no".

foley can get away with that for many reasons.

I don't love his "retirement". I don't get what happened but I don't know if this is the best time to have another strong connection to the team leaving after this year.
