It's definitely the NBC mics. No way the crowd was as quiet as they sounded during the picture with the trophy. You could kind of hear that it sounded muffled. I don't know why they can't find a good spot to place the mics in this building.

still, the one thing i take away from this game is that the hawks are perfectly capable of blowing a big game in the last ~9 seconds. it's worrysome.... they were pretty obviously the best team in hockey this year, therefore anything short of a cup is a failure.... and the fact that they had this wrapped up with 9.4 seconds left and that happend? worrysome....

for the record, i did call up red wings friend and when he answered i hit him with some chelsea dagger. granted, i hate the song thanks to having it overplayed and drilled into my head, especially when i was @ wrigley for that sox/cubs game where the new stanley cup champs showed up in 2010 and every fucking 30 seconds or so that song would kick up and play.... all night long. yeeech.

welp, sir drinky the wings fan is now reminding me that niklas lidstrom is the best defensiveman ever. and it would have been a very different series with the hawks if lidstrom had been around for it. yeap, i think dante described this as a circle of hell in the divine comedy.
