No Carey Price. Hawk win 8-2.

Sick fucking goal.

I like the team this year a lot more than last year already.

Still wouldn't be shocked if the Habs win because they look really good but my feelings wouldn't change.

Every single young guy on this team battles his ass off and understands his role. I honestly think they make the core play even harder. It's nice to see after dealing with nonstop, lazy crybaby prospects the last few years.

It's going to be fun watching this team continue to gel this season.

Might not be a retooling year afterall.

Early returns certainly seem to indicate you may well be correct.

You nailed it. Guys like Panik, Anisimov, Schmaltz, and even Hossa are buying in way more than we could have expected. I'm still not sold on Tootoo and Hinostroza, but I don't think they'll be here when it matters.

The hawk seem more fighty than in seasons past.

Nice win after more stellar goaltending on both sides.

They just kicked the shit out of the Habs.

Only reason it was close is because Montoya thought he was Carey Price in the 3rd.

Hinostroza looked good tonight. Tootoo is obviously awful.

Ideally we'd like a top 6 winger to add to the team but we'll see what happens.

The circus trip will let us know more about this team.

Makes my balls hurt to think that shakes maybe prescient about this team but it's looking good.

I'm gonna pencil in eight points of the fourteen possible on the circus trip: Vancouver sucks bad, Calgary is struggling given the talent on paper, Edmonton started hot but is fading fast, the Kings ain't what they used to be, and Anaheim is a bucket of fuckheads. The visit to Winnipeg has all the makings of a game where the Hawks don't get all the way up for it and get rocked, and the Sharks are conference champions and ought not to be slept on. Three wins and two loser points or 4-3 straight up leaves you in good shape, considering. Nine or ten points and things would look awesome heading into December because after that is January, the traditional End Of Care.

EDIT: Oh, I see Hossa is at 15 in 15, and while I don't expect a point-per-game pace to last the year, if he can get back up around .700 after falling to .515 last year, then yay, we'll have gotten way more Marian Hossa than we budgeted for. Here's hoping.

The early season pants shitty by fans/media over the penalty kill was hilarious. It's nothing but bad sequencing/anomaly.

This team is really reminding me of Pittsburgh last year, at least in terms of the forwards. A few elite superstars and then they filled out the roster with a bunch of young guys, none of whom were top 10 picks or big time prospects, but brought a ton of speed to the team. Doesn't that sound a lot like Motte, Schmaltz, Hartman, and Hino? Those guys have really been a big part of why the team is playing so well.

And on defense, although guys like Seabrook and Campbell continue to noticeably fall off, the depth of our defense is better than its ever been. No more need for Rozi! Kempny and Forsling have been revelations!

And Crawford continues his ascension to elite hall of fame goaltender. If there's a goalie in the league better than him who's name isn't Price, that would be news to me.

Montoya is lucky to still have a job after that massacre in Columbus last week.

The crazy thing is, they have more depth in the minors on D. Someone kidnap Rosi please.
